Hi! As a clinically-trained therapist, I want you to know that the struggles you face and the traumas you have experienced do not have to define you. You have the ability to create a new path for yourself, to live the life you really want to live. I would love to help you create that life. As a Christian counselor, I believe God created perfection and placed it all in the Garden of Eden. Unfortunately, sin entered the picture and people have been struggling with the effects of sin ever since. Sometimes that struggle is beyond our resources and understanding. We need to have someone help us through life's troubles. I work with adults, couples, and teenagers. I am interested in helping my clients deal with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, spiritual issues, marriage issues, trauma, and others. My husband and I have been in church ministry for over 40 years. We've seen a lot. While I am passionate about my own spiritual walk, I do respect the journey each person is on. It is not my place to dictate to you how your walk should look. God is big enough to handle that part all by himself. I am married to a pastor, have two adult children, and one son-in-law. I dearly love spending time with my family and sometimes try to do a craft project.
I am particularly interested in, and trained for, working with clients who are struggling with or are in recovery from eating disorders. I have extensive experience working with adults (18 and older) who have co-occurring diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, and trauma. I also find fulfillment in supporting people who are navigating life transitions: tackling the college experience, embarking on a new career, becoming a parent, empty-nesting, or encountering a less-expected transition such as grief or a relationship ending. It is common for people who have had an eating disorder or who are currently struggling with one, to find that transitions challenge their recovery process with increased stress. Counseling may be especially helpful during that time. The most important component of effective therapy is providing a therapeutic relationship built on warmth, empathy, genuineness, unconditional regard and trust. Using a “Health at Every Size” (HAES®) philosophy I draw from several different therapeutic techniques to tailor my approach to your unique needs. My primary goal is to help you understand how your presenting concerns developed and what is perpetuating them. I then support you in accepting or making changes that align with your values and goals. I offer a free initial phone call during which time you and I can explore together if I'm a good fit to help you reach your goals. I'm happy to answer any questions you have about therapy and help you feel ready to begin this process. You're welcome to send me an email with any questions you may have!
For the high achievers, overthinkers, creatives, and people carrying more than anyone realizes. Hi, I'm Elizabeth, and I'm glad you're here! Turns out, you're not supposed to have everything figured out. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, family stress, academic pressure, or simply feeling lost, therapy can help. My style is warm, collaborative, and insightful. Together, we'll focus on understanding what's getting in the way and building a life that feels better- More balanced, connected, and authentically YOU.
Many of the people I work with seem to have spent a fair amount of time wondering if they are somehow doing "being a person" incorrectly. The overthinkers. The deep feelers. The people who have always felt a little different. A little out of step. Or like everyone else received instructions they themselves somehow missed. Some are navigating trauma, anxiety, life transitions, or questions about who they are and how they want to move through the world. Many have spent a long time trying to make sense of things on their own. Therapy is not a place where you need to arrive polished, certain, or put together. It is a place where curiosity is welcome, questions are welcome, and most importantly, you are welcome. P.S. Consider this your official welcome to the Human Being Club. Your unpolished, un-edited pages are honored here.

If you’re dealing with something that isn’t listed here but you think we’d vibe, I encourage you to reach out for a consult. It takes courage to begin this process, and I’m honored to walk with you as you navigate whatever brought you here, at your own pace and in your own way. I specialize in working with clients experiencing stress, anxiety, grief, or life transitions, and are looking for a space where they don’t have to explain or translate who they are. They want to feel a genuine sense of belonging — not just in therapy, but in the world. These clients value connection, emotional safety, and authenticity. When the time feels right for you, I’ll be here and ready to support you. My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), emphasizing practical strategies, emotional understanding, and meaningful progress. While these frameworks guide my work, I recognize that each person is unique—so I tailor every session to align with your individual needs, values, and goals. As a counselor, I’m deeply committed to creating a supportive and inclusive space where individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered. My passion for mental and emotional well-being drives me to walk alongside clients with empathy and respect, helping them navigate challenges, build resilience, and move toward a more fulfilling and balanced life. In our work together, I strive to create a space that feels safe, respectful, and collaborative. My communication style is warm, direct, and grounded in empathy. I take a person-centered approach, which means I listen without judgment and honor your experiences, values, and goals. At the same time, I draw from solution-focused techniques to help you identify strengths, gain clarity, and move toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
My passion is in working with women struggling with relationships and balancing family and other priorities. I use a respectful, direct and collaborative approach in my sessions and believe that interpersonal relationships are a key factor in successfully navigating life. Transitions and challenges can offer us an opportunity to find greater understanding of purpose, more meaningful relationships, and increased confidence and personal gratification. I understand how difficult the process of counseling can be, but I also know the rewards that come from true healing. I am a Christian Counselor who brings extensive expertise in working with women struggling with issues such as marriage struggles, singleness, divorce, anxiety, codependency, communication, infertility/adoption/new moms. I also specialize in helping to navigate struggles with having a child with a diagnosis of Autism and I am a certified PEERS group leader. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Supervisor in the State of Texas and have been practicing for 19 years. I received my master's degree in counseling from Dallas Baptist University and also completed a master's degree (ThM) from Dallas Theological Seminary. I'm also certified to use "Prepare and Enrich" for pre-marital and marriage counseling.
In a few weeks, you could be unstuck from what’s holding you back. Let’s get started. If you’ve never been in therapy, I’ll make this easy. If you're coming back, I’ll honor what you already know. We’ll get to know each other and understand what you'd like to change. During our sessions, you will always be the expert in how your life works, and I’ll share with you a research-based approach to creating mental health. We'll work toward goals as a team, in a process that fits your unique background (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, sex, sexual orientation identity, religious affiliation); respecting your values is important to me. I use treatments that we know work. These therapies not only help you overcome problems you’re experiencing right now, but I’ll teach you skills to resolve future problem that might come your way, too. While handling emotions in a new way might feel strange, I’ll be there to walk you through the process. I completed a Ph.D. in counseling psychology at the University of Utah, and fellowship in trauma psychology at the South Texas VA. I live in San Antonio, Texas, where I am a professor at the University of Texas School of Medicine. In my free time, I love fitness and exploring small Texas towns. Hi, I'm Ayesha! We all face mental health challenges at different points in life, and seeking clarity is often the first step toward healing. You may be experiencing low moods, intrusive thoughts, or body image distress—all of which can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, stress, and fatigue. Sadly, many people suffer in silence, avoiding the deeper work needed to shift unhelpful thinking patterns. This can create a cycle of guilt, shame, and unworthiness that reinforces emotional and behavioral struggles. I’m here to help you break that cycle. Through evidence-based therapeutic interventions, I support clients in identifying and disrupting negative thought patterns, gaining new perspectives on themselves and their life experiences. Together, we’ll work to unlearn unhealthy beliefs, better understand your emotions, and develop healthy coping strategies to manage life's challenges more effectively. As a clinician, I offer a safe and non-judgmental space where you can grow, heal, and explore your emotional experiences. I lead with empathy, compassion, and validation, while also maintaining a goal-oriented approach to help you make lasting changes. My passion lies in helping individuals navigate mood disorders, stress-related issues, and eating disorders. If you're ready to take that first brave step, I’m here to walk alongside you. Reach out today, and let’s begin your journey to healing.
Do you feel stuck in anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional patterns that seem bigger than the present moment? Often, early experiences and relational wounds shape how we cope long after the moment has passed. When big feelings start affecting our daily life and relationships, it can feel exhausting and isolating. Whether I’m working with a child, a teen, or a young adult, my goal is the same: to create a safe, supportive space where big feelings are welcomed. Together we work toward deeper healing, not just temporary relief. Using insight-oriented exploration with practical tools, I help clients navigate challenges with anxiety, depression, identity development, and trauma. Therapy with me focuses on understanding the “why” behind your patterns while building skills that create real, lasting change. If you’re ready to feel calmer, more confident, and more understood, schedule a consultation today. Let’s talk about what’s happening and what support could look like through meaningful growth.
You know something in your life needs to change, but you feel powerless or overwhelmed on where to start. You beat yourself up wondering why it’s so difficult for you to take action when everyone else seems to have their act together. Consequently, you end up doing nothing, and the cycle of shame continues. Believe me, I can empathize, and more than that, I can help. What I want you to know, more than anything, is that there's nothing wrong with you, and you're not broken. You just need to take that first small step towards the healing you truly want, and I encourage you to start today by reaching out to me by phone call or email.
I work with young adults who feel disconnected from themselves and others, struggling with feelings of loneliness, self-doubt, or the sense that something is missing in their lives. If you’re struggling to understand who you are or how to connect with the people and things that matter most to you, I’m here to help. Many of my clients have experienced childhood trauma or challenging family dynamics, which can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, and isolation. Together, we’ll explore your past with compassion and focus on building the skills needed to create relationships that reflect your true self. In our work together, I’ll follow your lead. This is your journey, and I’m here to listen without judgment. As we uncover what’s causing you pain or confusion, I’ll offer tools and skills in a collaborative way to help you manage overwhelming emotions, establish healthy boundaries, and build better communication. If anxiety, depression, or relationship struggles have left you feeling stuck, I offer a supportive space for you to heal and grow. You deserve to be understood and empowered to live life on your terms. Let’s work together to help you create authentic connections, reclaim your sense of self, and find peace in your relationships.

College can bring big changes, new pressures, and moments that feel overwhelming. But you don’t have to carry it all on your own. With the right support, these challenges can also become opportunities for growth, confidence, and clarity. I work to help college students navigate transitions, manage stress, and heal from past experiences that may still feel present. In our work together, you’ll find a supportive space where you can be your real self with no pressure and no judgment. Using approaches like Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work and EMDR, I help clients uncover what’s beneath the surface, strengthen their sense of self, and move toward greater balance and resilience. My goal is to walk alongside you as you learn new ways to thrive, not just get by.
