Hi there! I'm Sarah, an artist, art therapist and mental health counselor. Talking to a new person about the hards parts of your life can feel deeply vulnerable! Hi, I'm Darren (he/him). I am accepting new clients. I’m a counselor with over seven years of experience, grounded in a career spanning 17 years in the mental health field. My approach is rooted in authenticity, warmth, and genuine collaboration, creating a space where you feel truly heard and supported. I believe in meeting you where you are, honoring your unique journey, and working together to foster growth and healing. I use mindfulness approaches, tailoring tools to meet your specific needs. Whether you're navigating challenges like anger, anxiety, boundaries, codependency, grief, life transitions, men’s issues, or trauma—or seeking support in relationships, stress management, or substance use—my goal is to help you move toward clarity and resiliency. At the heart of my work is a belief in the power of connection. Together, we’ll create a space where healing is possible. I help by fostering trust and building a strong therapeutic alliance. I strive to create a relationship where you feel safe to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with honesty and vulnerability.
I'm a psychiatric nurse practitioner, and I don't take myself too seriously. The work? Absolutely. But I've found that people open up more when the clinic doesn't feel like a courtroom. I see patients of al ages dealing with ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, hormone issues, and weight. If you're dragging through your days, can't focus, can't sleep, or just feel like something's been off for a while, that's exactly the stuff I work with. I'm direct. I'll tell you what I'm seeing and what I think we should do about it. But I'm also not here to lecture you or make you feel like a case study. You're a person, not a diagnosis. I want to know what's actually going on in your life, not just what boxes you check on an intake form. Also, I'm told I'm funny. Results may vary.
Humor is something I like to incorporate into therapy; however, we can be serious about your concerns too. People of all ages struggle with human suffering and sometimes you need someone to walk with you through that, whether it be something you wish to change or something that you cannot. I aim to help my clients make meaning in life while also identifying the connections between our individual concerns and larger systems in life. I provide individual therapy for a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, identity exploration, and trauma, with specialized experience supporting people through grief, traumatic loss, and substance use concerns. My clients have expressed appreciation for my ability to sit with them in their suffering, when they have felt most alone. I have multiple years of experience previously working in college counseling centers. During these experiences, I supported students from a variety of backgrounds and found a lot of joy in helping students at a unique intersection in their lives. I have been lucky to work with a diverse student population and have supported many queer and trans students in exploring their gender and sexual identities while also addressing other mental health concerns. In addition, I was able to support BIPOC students as they addressed systemic issues within the university, while also exploring their individual racial identities. I further co-facilitated a family-trauma group during my time at a university counseling center. Thus, I find that I greatly appreciate being able to sit with students who are addressing these concerns. I am a Psychologist Resident in OR. I have my doctorate and five years of experience providing therapy, however, to become licensed in OR I must complete a supervised residency. I am supervised by Dr. Carrie McMullin (OR 2963). Please feel free to reach out to me, we can chat and decide if working together feels like a good fit.

College comes with so many challenges - friends, partners, roommates, classes, and work - all while the world demands our attention! I work with teens and young adults through all kinds of transitions, and I specialize in treating C-PTSD, Anxiety, and OCD. I'm an anti-racist, and both LGBTQIA+ and Neurodivergent affirming.
I provide comprehensive medication management for ADHD, depression, insomnia, PMDD, PTSD, and weight management. But I don't just treat symptoms. I treat the whole person. That means we're going to look at the full picture: your sleep habits, screen time, nutrition, movement, stress levels, and how you communicate. Because all of it matters. Your brain doesn't exist in a vacuum, and neither do your symptoms. If you're running on autopilot, procrastinating on work, can't focus, can't sleep, can't stick to the routines you know would help... you're frustrated with your eating habits, your exercise patterns, or how you feel during certain times of the month, or maybe you just don't feel like yourself lately. I can help. If you're ready to stop wasting energy on what drains you and start investing it where it actually counts, let's get started.
