Often, we can get stuck in our daily grind of rise, rinse, repeat, daydreaming about what could be different, and yet feel paralyzed by uncertainty. “Feel the fear and do it anyway” might fall flat because how does one get to the point where they can identify what they are feeling is fear and trust in themselves and others to hold space for them along that journey? In my therapeutic practice, I offer a compassionate, culturally sensitive, and judgment-free space informed by humor, creativity, and collaboration. My goal is to support those who may be experiencing concerns including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and burnout. With a special focus on trauma-informed care and disordered eating, I provide a secure and comfortable environment where clients can explore and heal from past and present challenges. By blending person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic techniques, we will craft a personalized strategy to address what is holding you back from reaching your authentic self.

TriBeCa Therapy is a center for psychotherapy that was founded on the assumption that human beings are original, imaginative, inspired, and inventive. We particularly love our work with young adults and college students and are connected to issues they deal with. Issues related to sex and dating, drugs and drinking, depression and anxiety and academic pressures aren’t topics that will freak us out. We can handle it. College students frequently discuss with us challenges such as: making friends in ways that don’t involve alcohol, making friends as a person of color, navigating social situations that demand connecting with strangers (like in the cafeteria) and finding “their people.” We work to create a partnership that takes these challenges on together, trying new strategies, taking increasingly bigger risks and dealing with the disappointments and celebrating the successes that follow. College is a time when many young adults are dealing with very adults issues like sex, sexual assault, eating disorders, substance abuse, managing money, race, class, and career choices. Creating a space where young adults feel comfortable talking about these issues is a strength of our therapists and a non-judgmental stance is key. The object isn’t to insist on a particular set of values or practices, but to support young people to understand what they are dealing with and to make active choices about who they want to be. My client may be a person who currently feels stuck in their life, or dealing with chronic health issues, issues related to school, coming out, or dealing with depression and anxiety. They are seeking to feel better emotionally, function better in their lives, and connect to others in a more meaningful way. I honor the uniqueness of my patients and celebrate the qualities which make them particularly remarkable. I work with patients to achieve more satisfaction from their lives and choices, and provide them with support and practical feedback to assist in helping them resolve current problems and long-standing maladaptive patterns. My focus is to work collaboratively with my patients to help get them to their ideal level of functioning, and foster growth and personal development in a supportive and judgement-free environment. We can develop skills to deal more effectively with overwhelming feelings, identify your strengths, and work together to overcome challenges in your life. I look forward to speaking with you, and discussing how we can work interactively so that you can better navigate your way forward, and get to a more fulfilling level of functioning.

My guide in counseling is to create a safe and welcoming environment that promotes autonomy, open and honest communication and support to be who you are, where you are while working on where you want to be. For many, the notion of therapy implies that “something is wrong” when it is quite the opposite. The clarity it takes to acknowledge, accept and receive therapy or ‘mind maintenance’ as I like to call it, means you are self-aware, and there is nothing wrong with that. I specialize in a bad day with academic stress, social anxiety and depression but I can also work with a good day!
I am a licensed clinical psychotherapist serving NY (in-person/virtual), CO (virtual), and FL (virtual). I work with young adults, adults and couples within a supportive relational framework and incorporate varied behavioral modalities (including ACT, CBT and DBT). I have a MA in psychology, MSW in social work and presently am a doctoral student graduating in 2024.
My work is primarily catered toward issues such as acute stress, interpersonal difficulties, and challenges involving mood and anxiety. While I welcome individuals of all backgrounds, I am particularly invested in working with clients with marginalized identities, acting as a welcoming ally to queer and trans identified individuals and people of color. As a therapist, I have close to a decade of experience working with a range of at-risk populations in a number of professional settings. Many of my clients arrive feeling like they move from one stressor to the next. Getting out of bed is difficult, creativity and passion fade, and scrolling on a screen replaces human contact. My practice aims at helping individuals uncover, clarify, and address substantial barriers which block pleasure and satisfaction. The work I do involves a deep exploration of historical, interpersonal, and emotional factors in conjunction with the development of practical skills aimed at fostering wellness.
