My mission is to help each client I see to achieve lasting change through greater self-awareness, and enhanced knowledge of and ability to use skills to manage emotions, tolerate distress, communicate more effectively, and manage life’s challenges and stressors in more helpful ways. I am a warm, emotionally engaged therapist who will make you feel comfortable and understood. I am open and direct, and you will be able to tell instantly that you are in the room with someone who really wants to help you be your best self. Clients tell me that I am approachable and easy to talk to. I have 20 years of experience helping people who are struggling in one or multiple areas of their lives, and I believe that each client needs and deserves a personalized approach targeted to their own personality style, problems, and goals.
My work in counseling psychology emerged from being an artist. While earning my BFA at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, I was invited into my colleagues’ lives and learned to share their experiences through their lenses and perceptions. Graduate training at NYU sharpened this insight to bring a unique perspective to the therapeutic process. I provide feedback and reflection—infused with a dose of humor—in a warm, safe, and trusting atmosphere. My approach is both interactive and direct. I ask my clients to challenge themselves to be completely open and honest and share in a way that might feel like they’re ‘telling on themselves.’ Significant change and healing can only really begin with the whole truth. Believing strongly that the integration between mind and body leads to greater mental health, I encourage clients to incorporate physical activity and other treatment modalities: yoga, art, working out, running, massage, pets, acupuncture, meditation, medication, vacation, etc.
I am a psychotherapist in private practice in Manhattan. After finishing a Masters of Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania, I completed a four year post-graduate program at the William Alanson White Institute, a psychoanalytic institute in New York City. In my practice, I work with people who are experiencing a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety and relationship difficulties. I also work with individuals who are interested in improving their understanding of themselves or an aspect of their lives, or who want to be better able to make choices that lead to a sense of fulfillment. My goal is to provide a warm and collaborative relationship in which these topics can be explored. I believe that a successful therapeutic relationship is based on trust and can help bring about growth and change. I offer clinical supervision to psychotherapists in private practice and as part of the William Alanson White Institute's Intensive Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program. I am also an Associate Editor for the academic journal Contemporary Psychoanalysis.
You might be someone who generally has things together. You’re responsible, capable, and used to handling things on your own, but internally, things feel harder than it looks. Your mind may be constantly racing, second-guessing, or getting stuck on certain thoughts. Maybe anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, or stress is making it harder to enjoy school, relationships, or everyday life, or you're navigating a major transition and feeling overwhelmed behind the scenes. I work with students who want to better understand what’s going on internally and learn how to respond differently. Many of my clients are high-achieving and motivated but feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, overthinking, perfectionism, or avoidance that are hard to break alone. Together, we'll work on changing how you relate to difficult thoughts and emotions so they have less power over your daily life. I also work with students coping with chronic illness, chronic pain, or physical symptoms that don’t have clear medical answers. I help clients understand the mind-body connection and how stress, anxiety, and the nervous system can influence physical symptoms while taking their experiences seriously. My approach is practical, collaborative, and warm. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable sharing what’s on your mind without judgment while building evidence-based skills you can use in everyday life. My goal is to help you feel more confident, resilient, and better equipped to navigate life's challenges.
As a Licensed Master Social Worker, I’m drawn to working with thoughtful, self-aware individuals who are struggling internally, whether with overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, loneliness, or a persistent sense of not fully belonging. You may feel overwhelmed or disconnected from yourself, or caught in patterns that no longer feel sustainable. You may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, identity exploration, or a major life transition. Whatever brings you here, our work together won't stop at symptom relief. My goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable showing up as you are, without judgment, pressure, or the need to have everything figured out. This collaborative approach is designed to help you feel more grounded, more authentic, and safer within yourself, so you can engage with life in a fuller and more meaningful way. Beginning therapy takes real courage, and I don't take that lightly. My hope is that you leave each session feeling less alone in your experiences, and more able to approach yourself with curiosity, compassion, and honesty over time. Therapy, at its best, is a space not only for symptom relief but also for deeper self-understanding and more meaningful connection with yourself and others. My approach is relational and psychodynamic at its core, drawing on Mindfulness-based practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed methods when they're useful. What that looks like in practice is a conversation that moves at your pace, exploring both present-day concerns and the deeper relational history, patterns, and dynamics shaping the way you understand yourself and move through the world. Together, we may look at questions of identity and belonging, the parts of yourself that seek connection or protection, and the emotional themes running quietly beneath the surface. Working with me tends to feel collaborative, reflective, and warm. My style is curious rather than clinical: I pay close attention not just to what you're going through, but to the larger patterns that may exist underneath it. Informed by an interest in psychoanalysis, mindfulness, and the ways language and storytelling help us make sense of our lives, I approach every person through an intersectional and culturally aware lens, recognizing how identity, family systems, culture, and larger social forces shape how we relate and move through the world. Every approach is tailored to your unique needs and goals, balancing insight-oriented exploration with practical support wherever it's helpful. My path toward becoming a therapist grew out of a deep curiosity about people, relationships, and the ways we learn to adapt to difficult experiences. Over time, I became especially interested in the inner worlds people carry beneath the surface – the parts of ourselves that often remain unspoken, misunderstood, or difficult to put into words. Having lived between different cultures myself, I am especially curious about the ways people search for belonging and make sense of what it means to feel at home, whether that home is found in a place, a language, a relationship, a community, or within themselves. These experiences deepened my belief that healing often begins when we feel genuinely understood and less alone in the parts of ourselves we may have carried quietly for a long time. I believe there is something deeply healing about being able to explore your inner world in the presence of someone who is truly listening and trying to understand. In my free time, I enjoy running, yoga, meditation, strength training, hiking, reading, and traveling. I love long walks through New York City, discovering new coffee shops and restaurants, attending lectures and theater performances, and having thoughtful conversations with friends. I’m most drawn to spaces that feel thoughtful, creative, and intellectually alive.
You aren’t alone in your mental health struggles. As a mental health counselor for LGBTQIA folks, young adults, adults, and teens, I provide a gentle and collaborative environment for navigating issues relating to trauma, anxiety, depression, body image and shame, self-esteem, ADHD, OCD, identity exploration, family and life conflicts, low motivation, and emotional dysregulation. At all times, I believe in teamwork and accountability, remaining open to feedback and supportive in working toward your goals. I'm especially passionate about the concept of neuroplasticity (the brain's capacity to change, adapt, and form new neural pathways or ways of thinking) and humanism, which suggests we all naturally want to heal and self-actualize. I look forward to empowering your brain’s healing journey, fostering your personal growth, and navigating life's challenges in our work together. I'm dedicated to providing a safe, nonjudgmental space for vulnerability and self-expression. That’s why I take a warm, collaborative, and humorous approach to care, tailoring treatment to your unique needs. Your plan may include Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychodynamic/relational, and somatic techniques to explore different aspects of yourself, practice coping strategies, regulate your nervous system, and develop a new relationship with difficult thoughts and feelings. My own mental health challenges, alongside supporting family members through their mental illnesses, shaped my path toward therapeutic care. These personal experiences deepened my commitment to destigmatizing mental illness and demystifying therapy by providing accessible care that makes people feel seen and heard. I bring this anti-oppressive and culturally responsive perspective to my practice now, ensuring care that is grounded in the understanding that cultural expectations, intergenerational patterns, shame, and systemic barriers can deeply influence how safe and comfortable someone feels in therapy. In my free time, I love immersing myself in the great outdoors, from swimming to camping beneath the stars. I also enjoy the arts: water coloring, watching a fantastic show or movie, and crafting!
With more than six years of experience as a psychotherapist, I specialize in psychodynamic therapy, helping you explore how your past and present experiences shape your thoughts, feelings, and relationships. Whether you're navigating anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, OCD, or a significant life transition, my goal is to work alongside you in a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where real growth is possible. My practice welcomes adolescents, young adults, and adults alike. Authenticity is at the heart of everything I do. Meaningful therapy begins with a genuine human connection, and I strive to create an environment where you feel safe being fully yourself, without judgment or pretense. By showing up with honesty, curiosity, and openness, I aim to build a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, collaboration, and real understanding. Therapy with me is a conversation, not a cold process. At the core of my approach is a strong, genuine therapeutic alliance because I believe that kind of connection is what makes meaningful change possible. When we work together, I listen carefully to both your words and what lies beneath them, helping you uncover clarity and strength you may not have known was there. For exploring how your past and present connect, I draw on psychodynamic therapy. To give you practical tools for managing anxiety, ADHD, and mood-related challenges, I weave in techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). When OCD is part of the picture, I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help you build distress tolerance and find relief from the cycle of obsessions and compulsions. This blend of insight-oriented exploration and evidence-based tools is designed to support change that lasts. A desire to help others has been part of who I am for as long as I can remember. As I moved into young adulthood, that impulse deepened into genuine fascination with the science and philosophy of the mind. Social psychology captivated me, particularly the landmark experiments of Stanley Milgram, and I found myself drawn to the rich landscape of therapeutic orientations, from psychoanalytic frameworks and humanistic psychology to attachment theory and beyond. That curiosity translated into action through internships and professional experiences that shaped me as a clinician. I gained hands-on skills working with adolescents and adults within the child welfare system and in crisis intervention settings. Providing care to patients across a broad range of cultural backgrounds has profoundly enriched my perspective and deepened my commitment to meeting each person with the attentiveness and respect they deserve. Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me at the gym, training in Muay Thai, or exploring a new restaurant. I also have a longtime love of voice acting and rarely miss a chance to catch a new film. These passions keep me energized and present in my own life, which I believe makes me a better, more grounded presence for you in ours.
Finding the right therapist matters — and here's what sets my approach apart. I combine psychodynamic therapy, CBT, mindfulness, and self-compassion into a practical, personalized framework refined over more than 10 years of clinical experience working with high-achievers. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; you are the expert on your own life. I understand firsthand the pressure to perform, the fear of falling short, and the burnout that comes from relentlessly pushing yourself. I'm not just familiar with those experiences clinically; I've lived them. My clients tell me they appreciate that I'm direct, warm, and genuinely collaborative — that sessions feel both supportive and productive. All sessions are available online, so getting consistent support fits into even the most demanding schedule. If you're ready to stop white-knuckling your way through and start building something that actually feels sustainable, I'd love to connect. As a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with more than 16 years of healthcare experience, my practice is rooted in patient-centered, holistic, trauma-informed care for people at every stage of life. Whether you're navigating stress, anxiety, or mood disorders; facing a major life transition; working through grief or trauma; or exploring questions of identity and relationships, including within the LGBTQ+ community, you'll find a space here that is welcoming, stigma free, and free of judgment. Building genuine rapport is at the heart of everything I do. When you walk through the door, my hope is that you feel safe enough to share your story. Consider me a true collaborator in your care. Together, we'll work toward self-discovery and the kind of mental health that feels meaningful to you. No two people are alike, which is why my approach is individualized, collaborative, and holistic. Showing up for you exactly where you are, without preconceptions or pressure, is something I hold as a core commitment. Partnering with you to define your goals and build a path toward them is what I find most fulfilling about this work. In our sessions, you can expect a warm, calm, and nonjudgmental environment where your comfort comes first. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) alongside humanistic and integrative methods, I bring together techniques from multiple approaches to create a personalized treatment plan that fits your unique personality and needs. The result is care that feels less like a formula and more like a conversation. Long before I became a psychiatric nurse practitioner, people in my life would come to me when they needed someone to listen. Friends, family members, and loved ones often said that talking with me helped them through difficult moments. That feedback stayed with me and quietly shaped the direction my career would take. As my healthcare career evolved, so did my appreciation for the depth of emotional support that patients need alongside medical care. Walking alongside people through medical crises, serious illness, and grief deepened my commitment to empathetic, whole-person care and led me to the work I do today. Warmth and a nurturing presence are things I bring to every appointment. When I'm not in the office, you'll often find me outside, walking through nature or settling into a meditation or yoga practice. Creativity is a big part of how I recharge too. Drawing, painting, writing poetry, and music all play a role in my life outside of work. As an amateur musician, I enjoy singing, learning keyboard, and playing flute, less for performance and more for the joy and relaxation it brings.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with six years of experience, I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and ADHD. Whether you're working through difficult emotions or simply looking to improve daily functioning and personal growth, I'm here to help you find your footing and build the skills to move forward. Specializing in play therapy and person-centered approaches, I believe in meeting you exactly where you are. Together, we'll discover what works for you and develop practical tools that support your personal growth and daily life. Our sessions are built on safety, collaboration, and genuine understanding. Using play therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we'll work together to explore your emotions, strengthen your coping skills, and build the confidence to navigate challenges more independently. Warm and nurturing by nature, I tailor my approach to your unique needs and goals. Every person who comes to me deserves a welcoming, affirming, and nonjudgmental space, and that's exactly what I strive to create. Whether you're a child, teen, or adult, I'm committed to being a trustworthy partner throughout your care, helping you feel more empowered in your everyday life. My path to becoming a therapist began long before graduate school. As a teenager, working with children gave me my first real sense of how meaningful it is to support someone through a hard moment. Paired with my studies in psychology, those early experiences revealed a clear passion: helping others navigate challenges and grow into themselves. That foundation has stayed with me ever since. In every session, I bring empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to connect with each person I work with, because person-centered care isn't just a practice model to me. It's a commitment. When I'm not working, you might find me reading, playing video games, hooked on a crochet project, or enjoying a Broadway show.
As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with advanced doctoral training, I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, mood disorders, and attention-related concerns, including ADHD, depression, and the kind of persistent overthinking that makes daily life feel heavier than it should. If you've been struggling to find the right treatment approach, feeling stuck in patterns you can't seem to break, or overwhelmed by the complexity of what you're experiencing, you're in the right place. My goal is to help you make sense of your symptoms and create changes that actually last. You can expect clarity, honesty, and care that is genuinely tailored to you. Direct, individualized, and rooted in clinical evidence is how I approach every session. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, we'll work together to help you understand your patterns, reduce overwhelm, and build clear, sustainable change. The environment we create will be honest and grounded, a space where you feel supported without being placated. Every person who walks through the door brings a unique situation, and my approach reflects that. Whether the focus is on mood instability, emotional dysregulation, or attention-related challenges, the work is always shaped around what you need most. Seeing firsthand how mental health challenges can shape daily life, relationships, and the way people see themselves drew me to this work. That early exposure wasn't just formative; it became the foundation of my commitment to care that is both clinically effective and genuinely human. I approach each session with that grounded, compassionate perspective, because good treatment requires both. Outside of work, I'm drawn to travel, good food, and the intentional practice of rest. In a busy world, carving out space to reset isn't a luxury; it's something I genuinely believe in, both for myself and for the people I work with.

Seeking care is a vulnerable experience, particularly during a season of life defined by constant transition. Whether you are navigating the acute pressures of a demanding program, processing a life-changing event, or grappling with an elusive sense of discontent while everyone else seems to have "figured it out," you don’t have to carry that weight in isolation. Much of our suffering derives from inner conflicts between different parts of ourselves: the part that feels driven to achieve versus the part that is profoundly exhausted; the part that seeks independence versus the part that still feels small and uncertain. Often, these tender parts stay hidden beneath the surface of academic rigor and social performance. In the high-pressure environment of college and graduate school, it is easy to feel siloed—locked within your own mind and the deepest, most quiet anxieties of your life. My approach offers you the freedom and flexibility to examine these various facets of yourself. Together, we will work toward a greater self-understanding that allows you to move through your studies and your life with a renewed sense of fulfillment and agency.
