Hi, I’m Marlena. Being a college student can feel like a nonstop mix of pressure, expectations, and “why am I like this?” moments. I work with students who feel anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck—especially when school, relationships, and life transitions start piling up all at once. My style is warm, collaborative, and very real. I focus on helping you understand what’s actually going on in your mind and body (hello, nervous system), so you can learn tools that help you feel more grounded, regulated, and in control—not just during sessions, but in your day-to-day life. You don’t need to have everything figured out to start therapy. If you’re looking for a space that feels supportive, nonjudgmental, and practical, I’d love to work with you.
Hi, I'm Rebecca! I'm passionate about working with people who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, & overall transitional life challenges. If you want a life with less worry, anxiety, or hopelessness, we can work together to explore attainable goals to get you where you'd like to be. My goal is to create a safe, inclusive space for you to talk about your individual challenges & how you envision your ideal life worth living. I respect & encourage the individuality of every person's life story. We’ll work together to explore your potential for change & growth in a supportive & collaborative environment. I've worked with people struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, addiction, & people struggling with difficult life transitions. I treat couples, and have worked with couples struggling with addiction in their relationship. I have experience as a crisis & trauma counselor, particularly with people who've experienced sexual assault. Starting therapy can be the most intimidating part for many people. I hope to prevent that and to talk with you about your goals for therapy, and how you envision a life worth living. I focus on creating an engaging, open space for everyone, and to value & respect everyone's individuality. Reach out via email or phone with any questions you have!
At CenteredMind Online, I specialize in working with students who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally drained, and are ready to feel more balanced and in control of their lives. Many of the clients I work with are juggling academic pressures, relationships, and personal expectations, often while hiding how stressed or stuck they feel. On the outside, they may seem high-functioning, but internally they’re quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, or sleep issues. If you’ve been finding it harder to focus, stay motivated, or feel rested, no matter how hard you try, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. That’s where I come in. I provide a calm, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood, and your mental health is finally a priority. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, or simply feeling unmotivated or disconnected, we’ll work together to find a clear path forward. My approach is compassionate, and focused on helping you feel more grounded, and more like yourself again. I offer both medication management and supportive therapy, tailored to your individual needs. Together, we’ll look at what’s getting in your way and build a plan to help you move forward with solutions to help you feel more balanced and centered. 🎓 You Don’t Have to Figure It All Out Alone College can be exciting—but also overwhelming, confusing, and sometimes lonely. If you’re feeling anxious, burned out, unsure of who you are, or just stuck, you’re not the only one—and you don’t have to go it alone. 💬 What We Talk About Students I work with often share: Academic and social anxiety Burnout and perfectionism Identity questions around gender, culture, or sexuality Family and relationship struggles That lingering “What’s wrong with me?” feeling 🌱 What to Expect I keep things warm, open, and straightforward—no psychobabble. We’ll move at your pace, and talk about what matters most to you. This space is about feeling heard, not judged. ✨ Why You Might Feel at Home Here You don’t need to be in crisis to start therapy. If you’re thoughtful, curious, or just tired of keeping it all in—this could be the support you’ve been looking for.

People make the decision to engage in therapy for a multitude of reasons, all of which are valid. Some people may be ambivalent about making changes in their lives, while others might feel eager and ready to start the process. Regardless of where you find yourself on that continuum, I am here to support you. Although my background has mainly been focused around eating and body image, I see clients who are experiencing a variety of concerns: relationship issues, anxiety/depression, life transitions, unhappiness, etc. Prior to private practice, I worked with undergraduate and graduate students at Harvard University Counseling and Mental Health Service, with a specialty in supporting student-athletes and individuals with eating and body image concerns. I have also worked in psychiatric inpatient programs as well as eating disorder treatment programs. My therapeutic style is integrative, which means that our work together will draw on various approaches determined by your concerns and goals. My hope is for us to build a trusting relationship that will allow for honest reflection, helpful challenge, and ultimately positive change so that you may be able to lead a more fulfilling life.

My approach cultivates empowerment through compassionate support. I fully believe that within you, resides the inherent capacity to find your way through the most difficult of circumstances. It is my perspective however, that we often just need a bit of assistance in cultivating that path. While I work with clients on a variety of issues, my specialization is in treating chronic and complex PTSD through a somatic and attachment-focused lens. ADHD, nutrition/lifestyle change, body image and self-esteem are further treatment areas of niche interest. With more than 15 years of extensive career experience as a psychotherapist and in the field of behavioral health, I have come to one solid conclusion: The path toward healing is not so much about becoming anything. Often, it is about unbecoming everything that isn’t you, so that you can be who you were truly meant to be in the first place.
Students who come to work with me often share some things in common: -They're high-achievers. Driven, capable, and holding it together on the outside, but quietly exhausted, burned out, or feeling like something's missing on the inside. -They might be navigating anxiety or OCD, going through a major life transition, or questioning their purpose and what comes next. They may be working through shifts in their relationships, with a partner, with their parents, or with themselves. -Many have never asked for help before. They're used to being the one who has it together, and reaching out takes real courage for them. If any of that sounds familiar, reach out for a free 20-minute consultation and let's get started together :)

I am a white, genderqueer Licensed Associate Professional Counselor. I have experience working with queer people, people living after relational/sexual violence, and people who are interested in exploring issues that matter deeply to them, whether that is what gets called depression, trauma, anxiety, or simply a desire to explore. Authenticity, genuine human connection, and co-authorship are the pillars of how I consider client/counselor relationships, and I will bring a spirit of high regard, non-pathology, curiosity, and playfulness. Ultimately, I work to create a collaborative, co-authoring relationship with people who want more options and more say in their lives. Theoretically, I am driven by narrative, systems, and queer feminist thought. The world we live in is shaped by structures of power, including the knowledge we have about ourselves, our problems, and our options. Using narrative practices, I will work with you to investigate where that knowledge comes from and what alternate knowledge might be possible. In addition, I borrow freely from other approaches/modalities, and have experience in using trauma-informed approaches, mindfulness, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
