Our first session is a chance to explore what's bringing you to therapy and what you hope to gain. I focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself. Hello! I’m a trauma-informed psychodynamic therapist with clinical experience covering a wide range of issues in adolescence and adulthood. I am well-versed in working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma recovery/PTSD, grief, relationship and communication issues, intimate partner violence, out-of-control behaviors, problematic substance use, and school/work stress. I will support you in finding deeper feelings of fulfillment, ease, self-alignment, and possibility in your life. I work primarily with college students and people in the years after they leave or graduate college. Changes in social life, feeling a part of something bigger or not, family dynamics, and/or figuring out work can be tough on top of whatever you were already dealing with. The political moment brings feelings of despair, rage, and loneliness. People I work with are deeply affected. You don’t have to figure everything out alone. I work well with individuals of all backgrounds. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and with years of experience in non-monogamous relationship structures, I work with many queer and trans people and people in non-monogamous relationships. I deeply respect the unique lives of the individuals I work with, and I love to witness their progress toward their goals. My therapy approach is psychodynamic - grounded in the understanding that past experiences influence us consciously and unconsciously. I use a strengths-based, whole-person perspective, and I also offer skills and tools using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) depending on your goals for therapy. I work alongside you in a process of exploration and meaning making. You can expect me to be warm, humorous, genuine, and straight-forward. I would love to hear from you.
We offer individual and group therapy options and primarily treat individuals struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image issues. We also work with anxiety, depression, and/or trauma.

I have extensive experience in mental health, including depression, anxiety, behavior challenges, grief, and chronic illness, and I enjoy helping young adults navigate challenges while building skills for long-term success. I speak both Spanish and French and can provide culturally sensitive care in those languages.
You’re doing a lot for everyone, and at the same time you’re trying to hold on to who you are. Maybe you’re figuring out adulthood, balancing school or work, managing relationships, or trying to feel like “yourself” while also being there for other people. Big changes — starting college, career shifts, breakups, becoming a parent, identity changes — can feel overwhelming, lonely, or like a loss. You don’t have to sort it out alone. This is a space to say what’s really going on, without having to minimize it or make it sound okay. I'm real, warm & nonjudgmental. I work with people who are stressed, burnt out, anxious, hurting or just trying to stay afloat. I have deep experience supporting college students, young adults, people exploring identity & people living with self-harm or suicidal thoughts. We’ll slow things down, make sense of what’s happening & figure out what actually works. Therapy doesn’t have to be formal or scary. It can just be you and me, talking honestly about what you’re carrying and what you want next. If you’re ready to feel more grounded and supported, reach out. I’m currently accepting new clients and offer flexible scheduling. Send a message or request a session to get started.

I specialize in working with folks who are curious about or identify as neurodivergent neurospicy, on the spectrum, and/or autistic (especially those who learned of this identify in adulthood), who are looking for support in processing their experiences and/or the trauma and grief that can sometimes accompany being neurodivergent in a world set up for neurotypical people. Being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world can be incredibly draining often leading to burnout with no societal accommodations to recover from that burnout. One might be left feeling less than, othered, like a failure, or broken somehow and don't know why. You are not broken. Here you can cultivate a deeper understanding of yourself in the context of neurodiversity, give yourself space to feel and heal from any harmful messages, and learn how show up in life with a deeper sense of self love and acceptance. I have 20+ years of experience in the mental health field and 7 in my private practice. I believe in deep listening, non-judgmental compassion and empathy. I want to get to know your unique experience in the world and tailor our sessions to the type of support you need. My goal is to learn about you, understand you, and help you grow without forgetting the value you bring to the world just as you are.
I received my master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Bryn Mawr College in 1995, and have been a therapist since that time. I have been in private practice in State College since 2006. My approach to therapy is diverse; I tend to practice from primarily interpersonal and psychodynamic perspectives, although I also draw from cognitive-behavioral paradigms. I see my role as provider of a safe and supportive environment in which to help individuals become more aware of the multiple aspects of themselves. A main component of the therapy consists of understanding how each person’s ‘story’ impacts who they are, and affects the difficulties they presently face. Clients are encouraged to consider their readiness for change as well as options for change that are both meaningful and realistic to them.
I offer holistic therapy to help students escape the veil of anxiety and live with authenticity. Students I work with struggle with complex emotions. Despite being intelligent, hard-working, and having a witty sense of humor, life isn’t all rainbows and sunshine. When they first come to see me, they are exhausted by the never ending loop of “what if” scenarios and often find themselves trying to be perfect or pretend that they "have it all together." If you’re ready to drop anxiety and find self-compassion, I'm your gal. We will work together in reclaiming your inner knowing, finding your voice, and living your most authentic life.

I truly believe that everyone has the capacity to grow when they’re in a space that feels safe and accepting. At the heart of my work is building a genuine, trusting connection with you—because real healing begins when you feel truly seen, heard, understood, and accepted. Together, we’ll create a warm and welcoming space where vulnerability is embraced and self-exploration feels comfortable. Above all, I’m here to hold space for you with kindness and openness, honoring your unique needs, passions, experiences, wisdom, and hopes for the future. Specializations I’m especially passionate about supporting adults who grew up with caregivers who, for various reasons, may not have met their emotional needs.Together, we work to heal from those early experiences, find your true voice, clarify what matters most to you, and create a life that feels authentic, grounded, and free. I work with clients ages 15 and up to navigate challenges related to: Childhood relational trauma, emotionally immature parents, & unmet emotional needs Relationship patterns, boundaries, people-pleasing, & guilt Exploring identity, values, & personal growth Identity diffusion & enmeshment Shame, self-doubt, & indecisiveness Life transitions & emerging adulthood Grief & loss Anxiety, depression, & low self-worth Emotional regulation & distress tolerance Could We be a Good Fit? Clients who tend to do well with me often appreciate a little lightheartedness or humor during our sessions and enjoy putting what we talk about into practice between meetings—sometimes through small homework or weekly goals. Many have found it helpful to bring their creative interests into our work, which helps us build a space where you can feel safe, inspired, and free to be your authentic self. I’ve also noticed that adolescents, young adults, and college students often feel especially comfortable and connected in our time together. Therapeutic Approaches My approach to therapy is primarily rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Together, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors with curiosity and work toward making the changes you’d like to see in yourself. For those who resonate with this approach, I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support compassionate exploration of your inner parts. I also use a person-centered and trauma-informed lens, honoring the impact of your life experiences and creating a space where all parts of you are welcome. While CBT and IFS are my go-to methods, I like to keep things flexible, drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to tailor our work to what feels right for you. My hope is that you find a space in therapy that feels human, welcoming, and uniquely yours. If you think we might be a good fit, I’d love to connect and explore how we can work together in a way that supports your growth. I currently offer teletherapy sessions at River Wards Wellness Collective.
