Therapists for college students near 15213
Hi, I'm Rebecca and I'm so glad you're here. I love supporting students of all ages and young adults in graduate school, college, and high school, as you're navigating through life transitions, relationships, and mental health challenges. I have worked at many college counseling centers and know how important and intense these years are for students. I work to provide a safe, collaborative landing space for you to find your voice; learn new ways of being, with yourself and with others; process pain and loss; manage and understand your anxiety and feel empowered and grounded in your life. I approach therapy from a humanist and relational orientation that focuses on your individual strengths. I often help clients with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, family relationships, identity development, work/school-life balance, ADHD/ADD, self-esteem, sexual identity, relationships, and grief. I'm also passionate about helping clients who identify as motherless daughters as well as student-athletes.

I believe that you are already capable of change and I guide you through stepping into it. I specialize in anxiety, stress, life transitions, and relationships. Much of my work has been in treating anxious individuals who struggle with worry, self-doubt, and "analysis paralysis". I can help you recognize what is interfering with your daily life, relationships and overall well-being and adopt healthier belief systems. I am also especially passionate about helping couples recognize the "stuck points" in their communication patterns and replace them with with vulnerability, closeness, and connection. Primarily, I work with adults, couples, and teens/young adults. My passion is helping people gain insight and tools that foster personal growth and relief from their symptoms! I particularly value the mind-body-spirit connection and strive to work alongside my clients to achieve an individualized holistic treatment plan that promotes self-awareness and growth. Ready to start feeling better? Reach out! Starting therapy can be daunting - and you feeling like you are in the right hands is important to me. I offer free 15-minute phone consultations to see if we are a good fit together. Let's discuss your needs and questions. Whatever struggles you are facing, you do not need to face them alone!

My style of therapy is very laid back, as I believe comfort is the most important part of the therapy process. In order to discuss difficult topics or begin to work towards goals, there has to be a strong therapeutic relationship. I begin to build this relationship by getting to know my client's personalities, family structure, work life, friendships, etc. Once I get to know you, I can better understand patterns, coping skills, and/or emotions that may be occurring in response to stressors. I also am very client-centered and will tailor the therapy process around what is best for each client. Everyone is different and that means that therapy will look different for each person.
The stories we believe about ourselves are essential, and yet, they are stories we are often unaware of. You may have decided to seek treatment because you (or someone in your life) noticed something about you or how you live in the world that has been difficult, like feeling disappointed in yourself or others, and this may have impacted things like your schoolwork or your relationships. Whatever the difficulties are, these are themes in your story -- we would work together to make sense of them, and see what we can do about them. The possibilities may include things like psychotherapy (talk therapy) or medications, both of which are treatment options I offer in my psychiatry practice. Because I think it is essential to treat you as a whole person, I am only accepting new patients who are interested in psychotherapy (typically at least weekly), either with me in my practice, or with a therapist with whom I have a working relationship. As a physician (medical doctor) specialized in psychiatry, I draw on years of dedicated training for your treatment; qualifying as a psychiatrist entails, after completion of a bachelor's degree, eight years of full-time medical education, including six years of supervised, direct patient care in a variety of treatment settings. Sometimes life sits heavy on our shoulders. This past year has been especially difficult- isolating, ever changing and transforming “normal” as we knew it. We need support along the way to untie knots, approach new solutions and receive warm support, especially during difficult chapters in life. I am a licensed clinical social worker, specializing in helping individuals find solutions with a supportive, problem solving approach. You can expect that therapy with me will prioritize understanding your individual needs and collaboration.
I offer virtual therapy in PA, MI, and MN. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 8 years of experience across a variety of settings. I obtained my bachelor's degree from Mercyhurst University and master's degree in social work from Edinboro University. I have experience working with adults in community mental health and residential treatment for substance use disorders. I use evidence-based practices including: CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Behavioral Activation. I provide strength-based, personalized therapy that empowers clients to take control of their mental health and work towards their goals. My approach to counseling is collaborative and client centered. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to provide guidance, support, and a framework for your journey. Our first session is a chance to explore what's bringing you to therapy and what you hope to gain. I focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself. Over time, we'll work together to identify repeated emotional patterns, develop coping strategies, and new ways of responding to life's challenges.

Hi! I’m Kimberly Carlin, LPC, and I work with women over 18 who want support navigating the ups and downs of life. Between work, relationships, family responsibilities, and personal growth, it’s normal to feel stressed, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to cope. I help women work through: * Anxiety, stress, and burnout * Relationship challenges and setting boundaries * Trauma or emotional abuse * Grief or major life transitions * Body image and disordered eating * Pressure to be “perfect” or meet high expectations * Life transitions such as parenting, career changes, or caregiving responsibilities Here’s what therapy with me looks like: CBT: Helps you spot unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier ones. ACT: Teaches you to accept feelings and focus on what matters most. Somatic Therapy: Uses your body to release stored stress, tension, and anxiety. IFS (Internal Family Systems): Helps you explore different parts of yourself and understand conflicting thoughts, emotions, or behaviors. Inner Child Work: Helps you understand how past experiences shape your feelings today. EMDR: A specialized approach that helps painful memories feel less overwhelming. Christian Counseling and Prayer (optional): For women who desire, therapy can integrate Biblical principles, prayer, and exploring God’s perspective of who you are to guide healing, self-worth, and decision-making. I provide online therapy and am licensed in multiple states, so you can continue care even if you travel, work remotely or move. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel understood, gain clarity, and build tools to navigate life with more confidence, self-compassion, and faith-based guidance if desired. Whether you’re feeling stressed, struggling with relationships, wanting to process trauma, or navigating major life transitions, I’m here to support you. I assist in helping my clients find meaning and fulfillment in life by being engaged and by actively guiding you through your unique life challenges. Most of my clients come see me because they just know life could be better. It HAS to be. For many people who walk through my door, their lives aren't shattered, lying breathless in the corner. These people get up every single day and do the thing. But somehow, somewhere, something still feels off. Maybe it's your relationship. Maybe it's you. Maybe you don't know what it is, but life just doesn't seem right. You're not fully happy. Not yet. I help couples, families, and individuals live better. How? By having lived lots of lives, I've developed a unique perspective. One that has allowed me to develop a mental wellness expertise that mixes therapeutic techniques found in human services and combines them with the results-oriented coaching and leadership skills derived from the professional services field. This specific meld of mojo enables me to provide a different kind of service and perspective where other help may have been unsuccessful.
