Drew’s goal to help you find freedom, peace and ease within the changes of your life. To help you understand the processes of your mind and how to use the wisdom of experiencing that understanding to heal. Drew offers online individual counseling to adults and adolescents in Alaska, Washington, and Oregon who struggle with a variety of difficulties ranging from daily stress to persistent mental illness. He has been working in the field of counseling since 2000. He received his Masters of Arts (MA) in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oregon and Alaska and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington. Drew’s theoretical orientation is eclectic, drawing from several different philosophies including person-centered (humanistic), existential, transpersonal, ecopsychology, Buddhist psychology, and gestalt psychology. These philosophies propose that each person has within them an inherent transformative power to realize their human potential. Drew’s goal is to help his clients realize and take responsibility for this power, helping them look deeply at the unfolding process of experience, freeing them from unconscious relationship patterns that may be holding them back from realizing their potential. Drew practices a variety of therapeutic modalities including mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, clinical heart centered hypnotherapy and gestalt expressive arts therapy. The therapeutic techniques that Drew uses are tailored to the needs of the individual with an emphasis on the healing power of the therapeutic relationship.

Fundamentally, I believe we as humans all strive to do the best we can. We all possess the desire to thrive. Our individual internal strengths contribute to our natural resiliency, helping us navigate through life’s challenges. At times, an individual’s journey endures obstacles that are not easily tackled alone. Being human and juggling life’s difficulties can be challenging. Needing guidance to learn new skills and support to foster your strengths is okay. I enjoy supporting and guiding children, teens and families in exploring their needs and identifying strategies to help improve their overall well-being. I will come alongside you, working to grow strength and resiliency, one step at a time.

The college years can be some of the most overwhelming — academic pressure, perfectionism, anxiety, homesickness, identity shifts, and the weight of major transitions, often layered on top of experiences you carried here long before. Whatever you're navigating, I'll meet you with directness, honesty, and genuine warmth — and there will likely be some laughter along the way. We'll work toward your goals as a team, with care tailored to you and shaped by an understanding that your background, identity, and lived experience matter deeply. This is a space space, and all are welcome here. I commonly work with students navigating: - Anxiety and perfectionism - Depression - Trauma and past experiences - Chronic illness and chronic pain - Homesickness and life transitions - Identity and self-worth Therapy with me is supportive and nonjudgmental — and direct. Expect to be gently challenged. Together we'll work on dismantling negative core beliefs, shifting unhelpful thought patterns, building healthy boundaries, and finding coping skills that actually fit your life . Our first session is about you. I'll walk you through what to expect and your rights as a client, and you'll have space to ask questions. Building trust and rapport makes the work possible — so we'll begin laying that foundation while I gather some important background. My goal is that when you leave, you feel heard, understood, and genuinely hopeful that growth is possible.

As a neurodivergent therapist, I bring a unique perspective to my practice, embracing diversity in all its forms. My approach is firmly rooted in anti-racism, LGBTQ+ affirmation, and gender inclusivity, while actively promoting neurodiversity acceptance. My spiritually open mindset allows me to respect and explore various belief systems. Drawing from extensive clinical experience, I empower clients to navigate and challenge oppressive systems that often underlie emotional distress. My commitment to inclusive practices ensures that each individual's intersecting identities are acknowledged and valued throughout our work together. I create a safe space for clients of all body types and sexual expressions, maintaining a sex-positive and kink-friendly stance. In my therapeutic practice, I bring my whole, authentic self to every session. As an intuitive feeler (INFJ), I approach my work with a deep sense of empathy and insight. My core values significantly shape my therapeutic style, with a strong emphasis on fostering creativity, ensuring safety, upholding integrity, and embracing new experiences that catalyze positive change. I particularly value the development of relational depth in therapy, believing that a strong, genuine connection between therapist and client is fundamental to the healing process. This authentic approach allows me to create a space where clients feel truly seen, understood, and supported as they navigate their personal growth journey.

Carmen is a firm believer that people are not broken and in need of fixing, but rather wounded in need of healing. If you're ready to explore some of the unknowns inside yourself please reach out. She is honored to walk with you, without judgement, but with guidance and care. In my practice I work with children, teens, and adults who are having a hard time understanding, communicating about, and coping with their emotions and experiences. I enjoy collaborating with folks to find the right therapeutic container for the work that will offer ease, growth, and healing in daily life and beyond. This looks different for everyone and I’ve found that art, music, play therapy, and somatic inquiry are some of the ways I lean into building a therapeutic container that is attuned to each person's unique needs. I have experience and strength in working with 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, Chronically sick, Disabled, Neurodiverse, Children, Youth, Families, and Communities with a focus on cultural experiences, queer and trans experiences, life transitions, and trauma recovery.

We all have a deep need for connection. This connection is often challenged and disrupted by experiences throughout our lives. This leads us all to experience some level of disconnect. This can lead to anxiety, depression, poor coping skills, substance use, and many other dis-eases. The good news is that we all have the potential to reconnect with our authentic self and heal! My approach to therapy and healing involves reconnection with our true selves, our body, and the present moment through compassionate listening, non-judgement and curiosity. For over 20 years, I have been providing therapy, assessment, and crisis services to our community. I believe in relationship and proven therapies to guide healing, well-being, greater insight, and confidence in your ability to grow and change. I approach this through appreciating your experience, seeing your strengths, and keeping your front and center in the process. The single most important thing that I have learned in my career is that we all have limitless potential to heal and recover. I deeply believe in your capacity to do so! This capacity already resides within you and you can reconnect with your authentic self to live your best life. I would be honored to embark on this journey with you.
