I am a Nurse Practitioner (Family & PMHNP) that provides holistic care focusing on weight loss coaching, medical weight loss, and medication management in depression, anxiety, and ADHD. I completed my undergraduate studies and Doctorate in Nursing Practice-Family Nurse Practitioner from Pacific Lutheran University. I then went on to complete my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the University of Cincinnati. I have also received my Certificate of Advanced Education from Obesity Medicine Association. I believe that all patients should be treated with respect and compassion. I seek to provide balanced and holistic care to every patient, addressing the mind, body, and spirit.
Gathered & Wise exists to provide excellent and experienced perinatal and maternal mental health care. We believe that a well-supported mother has a tremendous positive impact on her children and her community. We also believe women deserve wellness due to their own intrinsic worth; not based on what roles they hold, or what they can contribute to others. It is our hope and intention to create a warm environment where both clients and therapists feel respected, supported, and are given the tools they need to thrive.
As a therapist, I am passionate about supporting teenagers and young adults who are seeking to work through trauma and move forward in their lives. My own experiences and being around others who have faced trauma inspired me to pursue this path, and I am committed to creating a safe, welcoming space for anyone who wants to begin their healing journey. I have experience working with a diverse range of clients, including veterans and members of the LGBTQ+ community, and I am fluent in both English and Spanish. I strive to do what is best for your over all well-being. I have been working in the mental health field for 9 years with a focus on adolescents and young adults but take all clients of any age.

When people come to treatment with problems, it is important to remember that they are trying to cope with them in the best way they can. With that in mind, I offer a reflective and engaging partnership with my clients, working toward the goal of helping them to be autonomous, authentic and compassionate in a world that can be extremely stressful. Although my work is solidly grounded in psychodynamic, cognitive/learning, and systems theories, my approach is client-centered, practical and strengths-based. I bring honesty, warmth, and humor to the therapy relationship. I am LGBTQ affirmative and invested in doing cross-cultural therapy which is culturally sensitive. I have a dog, Bracket, who works with me, and I have been doing AAT since 2002. There is a growing body of research which suggests that AAT (Animal-Assisted Therapy) can be helpful with a range of diagnoses, including Depression, PTSD, and Autistic Spectrum. Many therapists know little about online games such as World of Warcraft and Second Life. They may dismiss it as unimportant, or assume it is a problem. I am a gamer-affirmative therapist, meaning I’m more interested in understanding your in-world experience and activity than pathologizing it.

The college years can be some of the most overwhelming — academic pressure, perfectionism, anxiety, homesickness, identity shifts, and the weight of major transitions, often layered on top of experiences you carried here long before. Whatever you're navigating, I'll meet you with directness, honesty, and genuine warmth — and there will likely be some laughter along the way. We'll work toward your goals as a team, with care tailored to you and shaped by an understanding that your background, identity, and lived experience matter deeply. This is a space space, and all are welcome here. I commonly work with students navigating: - Anxiety and perfectionism - Depression - Trauma and past experiences - Chronic illness and chronic pain - Homesickness and life transitions - Identity and self-worth Therapy with me is supportive and nonjudgmental — and direct. Expect to be gently challenged. Together we'll work on dismantling negative core beliefs, shifting unhelpful thought patterns, building healthy boundaries, and finding coping skills that actually fit your life . Our first session is about you. I'll walk you through what to expect and your rights as a client, and you'll have space to ask questions. Building trust and rapport makes the work possible — so we'll begin laying that foundation while I gather some important background. My goal is that when you leave, you feel heard, understood, and genuinely hopeful that growth is possible.
Are you trying to manage conflicting feelings, difficulty with relationships, trauma, grief, or simply facing the daily challenges of life? Sometimes a relationship with a skilled therapist can be a great place to explore these challenges and figure out how you can improve your quality of your life. I work with children, adolescents, and young adults who face struggles; some small, some big. Whether you’re looking for a therapist for yourself or for your child, I will tailor our work together to fit your needs. I have worked with kids of various ages, ranging from elementary to college age, and I have experience working in both school settings and in private practice. I specialize in working with trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, and relationship and identity issues. Children and young adults face many challenges stemming from their family of origin, questioning their identity, figuring out their way to becoming fulfilled adults, and much more. Our work together centers around how to help my clients to better understand their feelings and the way they think about the world, and how this all impacts their everyday choices. My therapeutic approach is based on Internal Family Systems (also known as “Parts Work”). This work stems from the belief that we are all made up of a system of dynamic, caring, and capable parts. When we experience trauma, some facets of our parts have to adopt extreme roles to protect us. Later on, these parts may need help letting go of their past experiences so they don’t negatively impact us. IFS work gives you the space and tools you need to approach your parts with curiosity, gain insight into them and why they were formed, understand what roles they play in your beliefs, actions, and relationships, and ultimately be able to heal yourself. In this work, I also use elements of Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relational Therapy, and Mindfulness. For my younger or creatively-inclined clients, I include play and art therapy techniques to keep the sessions engaging and give clients creative modalities through which they can better express themselves. My success in treating clients lies in my ability to build trusting relationships with them. My goal is to create a warm, accepting, and encouraging therapeutic environment. I incorporate creativity and fun into my sessions while balancing the hard work that it takes to make meaningful life changes.

Do you love gaining insight into who you are? Are you a little more introverted and introspective? Do you see life as an opportunity to develop yourself and grow? Do you sometimes also feel guilty over potentially disappointing others, or are you constantly acting as a mediator in your relationships? If these questions resonate- then you might be an internalizer and we can do some wonderful work together to help you understand your past and help you become the most emotionally healthy version of yourself. My practice is focused on helping you develop insight into the "why" behind some of your struggles. I work with people facing depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, identity development (racial, sexual, spiritual, personality, etc), and difficulty processing loss. Good mental health is key to thriving in school, maintaining strong relationships, and enjoying life. While medication can be a helpful tool, you may have heard mixed stories and are wondering if it's the right choice for you. Perhaps you were diagnosed with ADHD as a child and managed fine through high school, but now you're struggling to keep up. Or maybe you're already on medication for depression or anxiety, but it no longer seems as effective. You might even be seeking a second opinion on a past diagnosis or looking for a more holistic approach with a provider who truly listens. Whatever you're facing, I’m here to help. Why choose a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)? As board-certified and licensed professionals, PMHNPs are trained to diagnose mental health conditions, provide therapy, and prescribe medication. Nursing has been the most trusted profession for 22 years running, and we are dedicated to putting our patients at the heart of everything we do. That’s why I named my clinic Centered Psychiatry—because your well-being is always our focus. You deserve personalized care from someone who takes the time to understand your story and collaborate with you on a plan that works for you. If you're ready to explore a fresh approach to mental health, let’s connect.
In practice for 30+ years, I offer a warm, collaborative approach. We will work together to heal wounds, resolve symptoms and overcome barriers that keep you from living your full potential. Depending on your needs and wishes, our work together can involve learning new skills, exploring past hurts, accessing your inner wisdom, harnessing your creativity to develop more effective life strategies, and all the while deepening your self-understanding. I work with individuals who are 16+ years. While I have a wide ranging practice, I have particular interest and expertise in working with depression, anxiety and stress, young adults, sexual orientation, gender identity, clients with chronic health concerns, life transitions, creative blocks, and family of origin issues.
I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, perfectionism, self-doubt, or a sense of disconnection from themselves or others. You might even be unsure of what's "wrong" and are seeking clarity. My approach is collaborative, active, and designed for healing and creating change. I have advanced training in AEDP and often integrate IFS/parts work and guided mindfulness into sessions. For those interested, I offer Dreamwork as part of the therapeutic process.
