I am an evidence-based therapist who incorporates mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral strategies to tailor therapy to your needs. I will help you understand how to be more present-focused, how to set yourself up for success, and how to challenge negative thoughts and beliefs that hold you back from living a genuine life. I am a goal-oriented therapist. In the initial stages of therapy, we will work together to identify and clarify goals. Then, I'll help you learn new skills or tools to make those goals a reality. Finally, we'll work on reducing the likelihood of similar issues coming up in the future. Please feel free to email me through Psychology Today even if my profile says I'm full. I save a few weekend spaces specifically for students.
Gathered & Wise exists to provide excellent and experienced perinatal and maternal mental health care. We believe that a well-supported mother has a tremendous positive impact on her children and her community. We also believe women deserve wellness due to their own intrinsic worth; not based on what roles they hold, or what they can contribute to others. It is our hope and intention to create a warm environment where both clients and therapists feel respected, supported, and are given the tools they need to thrive.
I use a client centered approach, which means you will be in the driver's seat regarding the areas of your life that you want to discuss, and I will be your co-pilot, helping to navigate the terrain and offering you tools and wisdom along the way. My counseling approach is collaborative, genuine, and relational. I approach counseling with an unconditional positive regard for my clients. My clients would describe my style as down to earth and relatable. I strive to create an atmosphere that is safe and free of judgement so that you feel comfortable discussing difficult topics. My areas of focus are helping people experiencing chronic pain, identity exploration, support during transitions and times of stress, support with navigating the complexities of relationships, and trauma recovery.
I believe that we make meaning of our lives through stories. We each have a story of who we are and why our lives unfold the way they do. Our work will explore how these stories influence your present experience and connection to the world. My own story includes themes of a rural upbringing, engaging in the punk and bike messenger scenes, leaning into my queer/trans identities, and learning how to utilize outdoor adventure and movement as a tool for growth and healing. I am interested in working with anyone interested in in nervous system regulation and reconnecting to nature. I am particularly passionate about working outdoor adventurers, athletes, college students, and those in the LGBTQIA+ community. I use a nature based somatic approach that utilizes tools from narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, polyvagal theory, mindfulness practices, and parts work. I see all my work through a trauma-informed lens and I begin with nervous system regulation to set the foundation for growth and change. I provide therapy outdoors, in the office, or online. Please reach out to start your journey today and discover the power and strength within your story. I look forward to working with you.

Hi, I've been in the field since 2001. I have a master's degree in Buddhist psychology and use mindfulness throughout my work. I have a passion for working with college students. I have specialized in ADHD, trauma, and substance use and work with identifying the underlying issues related to these conditions. Being a part of the LGBT community I have a passion for gender-affirming care and addressing relationship issues. I also have experience with eating disorders, fitness, nutrition, and health related issues.
Having trained at the University of Notre Dame (Ph.D., M.A.), UC Berkeley (APA-accredited internship) and Stanford (post-doctoral fellowship), I bring rigorous scientific expertise into my clinical work with college students. In fact, I worked at the University Counseling Centers at all three of these schools and have continued to develop a specialized private practice that focuses almost exclusively on college students. I also teach for Pepperdine University in their Graduate School of Education & Psychology. I help clients with a range of concerns including: anxiety, depression, career and academic concerns, ADHD, relationship concerns (situationships, am I right? :) ), body image and eating disorders, perfectionism, college/life transitions, as well as family of origin challenges (let's say it together, boundaries...). I often work with high-achieving students who often are managing academically but struggling internally. My clients often put others first and themselves last. By the time they come to therapy, concerns have been going on for some time and they've reached a breaking point. They may feel they "should" be able to handle things on their own. As a recovering perfectionist and someone who was riddled with anxiety throughout college, I get it. It wasn't until my own training in CBT that I learned how destructive such thought patterns were. It inspired my clinical approach, as well as three clinical workbooks I've published on Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT, and Positive Psychology with the top mental health publishers. Many of my clients who have been to therapy before often remark how "easy" I make the process. We laugh, we learn, and talk like old friends. Therapy doesn't have to be stuffy or stressful. It's about feeling respected, validated and heard. Learning to take care of yourself, set appropriate boundaries, and thrive! I'd LOVE to work with you! Please feel free to book a complimentary 15 minute consultation at my website below so we can connect!
If you feel unheard, disconnected, or at the end of your rope, maybe you are feeling lost after losing your faith, or are in a relationship that leaves you unseen. I offer therapy that starts with your emotions, lived experience, and focuses on compassion as a tool for healing. I utilize a trauma-informed, nature-based therapy and believe nature is a powerful tool for keeping us grounded when things in our lives feel out of control. Together we can work on helping you feel more grounded, connected, and at peace. I offer telehealth counseling across Oregon, including Portland, Salem, Eugene, Bend, and Medford. Much of my work has involved trauma and helping people make sense of what happened and how it shows up now. I listened first, reflect what I'm hearing, and then look at what emotions that brings up for you, in a warm, non-judgmental, calming space. I also offer walk-and-talk, nature-based sessions for people who feel better processing outdoors. Finding the right fit matters. Schedule a free 15-minute consultation on my website. Evening hours available.

He received his Masters of Arts (MA) in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oregon and Alaska and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington. These philosophies propose that each person has within them an inherent transformative power to realize their human potential. Drew’s goal is to help his clients realize and take responsibility for this power, helping them look deeply at the unfolding process of experience, freeing them from unconscious relationship patterns that may be holding them back from realizing their potential. Drew practices a variety of therapeutic modalities including mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, clinical heart centered hypnotherapy and gestalt expressive arts therapy. The therapeutic techniques that Drew uses are tailored to the needs of the individual with an emphasis on the healing power of the therapeutic relationship.
I believe that every person is created in the image of God, is uniquely designed and can obtain optimum mental health if they are willing to put forth the effort.
