Are you searching to find your place in the world? Do you question whether or not you even know who you are, what you want, and what you need? I get it, it’s both exciting and scary to invest in your relationship with yourself. Therapy can provide you with a non-judgemental space to reflect on your past, understand your present, and move towards increased authenticity in the future. I look forward to getting to know you as you get to know yourself. My approach is highly personalized and relational. Your engagement is key. I work collaboratively with you to explore your experience with curiosity and build on your existing strengths to navigate challenges. While individual goals vary, I aim to leave each client with increased understanding, curiosity, and compassion for their whole self. While I have dedicated much of my clinical experience to working with ADHD and LGBTQIA+ clients, my clinical experience extends to working with anxiety, identity development, self-esteem, and body image. I provide telehealth counseling in both Washington and Oregon state. I invite you to schedule a free consultation on my website.
Align Counseling’s philosophy and approach to services is one of inclusivity of all individuals regardless of their age, race, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, disabilities, sexual orientation, or economic status. Everyone has the right to quality care and Align Counseling wants to ensure this is possible. Align Counseling currently accepts clients through the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) all CCOs, Moda, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Pacific Source Commercial, Aetna, Cigna, Kaiser Permanente, and Providence.
Many of my clients come to me with emotional wounds. They often felt invisible, rejected, devalued, or deeply hurt by others. They learned to adapt to the unsupportive environment by judging themselves, tensing up, trying to control everything, disconnecting from themselves, numbing their feelings, not trusting others, hiding, or trying to please everyone. As time goes by, these strategies stop working and become symptoms we label as depression, anxiety, disordered eating, substance use, PTSD, self-harm, etc. I work with clients to break free from the past and live life in the way they want. I offer a safe space where clients feel seen, accepted and empowered. I collaborate with clients to set goals and identify/build on their strengths. I use body-based therapies (EMDR, SP, Mindfulness, etc) to help clients resolve past trauma. I incorporate ACT and DBT to help clients manage stressors more effectively and live more meaningful/fulfilling lives. As a BIPOC psychologist and bilingual immigrant, I have extensive experience serving clients with marginalized identities. I show curiosity and respect to client’s lived experiences related to their identities and feel honored to be able to support clients in breaking barriers and living up to their full potentials. If any of these speak to you, let’s chat!
My clients seek me out for a variety of reasons, including trauma, depression, anxiety, and stress disorders; adjustment difficulties; academic difficulties; and relationship and family-of-origin concerns. Sometimes, they just need someone to help them through a difficult time in their life or to help them understand why they are the way they are. If you’re wondering whether I might be a good fit for you, feel free to have a look around my website or contact me to discuss next steps.
As a licensed therapist with over three decades of experience, I specialize in supporting individuals through life's complex challenges. My practice centers on helping clients navigate stress, anxiety, family dynamics, grief, and significant life transitions. I bring a compassionate and nuanced approach to addressing communication challenges, workplace issues, and personal growth. My work is deeply rooted in understanding the unique experiences of women, young adults, and individuals facing profound life changes, including those dealing with cancer or end-of-life transitions. I am committed to creating a supportive, empathetic space where clients can explore their personal narratives, heal from past experiences, and develop meaningful strategies for emotional well-being. Drawing from my extensive background, I offer culturally responsive care that honors each individual's journey. My goal is to walk alongside you, providing thoughtful guidance and support as you move toward greater understanding, resilience, and personal empowerment.
Welcome. People come to therapy for a range of reasons. For over 13 years I've worked with individuals 18+ years old struggling with mood, self-esteem, anxiety or worry, relationships, identity, loss, trauma, and life transitions. Working in a college counseling center is part of my prior experience. If you are interested in “depth therapy,” or have tried therapy before and the benefits didn’t stick, my approach may appeal to you. My specialty is called psychodynamic psychotherapy. This means you will be invited to begin each session with whatever comes to mind, and together we explore your inner experiences (emotions, sensations, thoughts, beliefs, expectations, dreams) with a focus on seeking to understand you and what’s troubling you. I can help us “read between the lines” for themes or patterns that contribute to feeling stuck, which may have been previously out of awareness, and which can now inform daily life and relieve symptoms. I am also certified to use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a technique that can help heal trauma symptoms impacting current life. While our work centers on you as an individual, none of us exist outside of the broader socioeconomic and cultural systems we are in. These pressures and influences around us are also real and crucial to recognize. Psychotherapy is an opportunity to deal with issues in a way that is difficult to do alone. I can accompany you with my undivided listening, consistent availability, an appointment day and time safeguarded only for you, and commitment to taking you seriously.
Feeling like a shadow of your former self. Just going through the motions. All this pretending, performing—it’s exhausting. You’ve become a master at molding yourself to fit others’ expectations of you. And just to keep the peace. And social media is messing with your mental health. Every scroll through Instagram feels like being bombarded by a barrage of perfect lives. You can’t help but compare, feeling like you’re coming up short. And so you dive deeper into the people-pleasing game, losing yourself in the process, just craving some validation. How do you even begin to claw your way out of this hot mess express? You’re not wrong, change isn’t always crystal clear. But hand me that brain teaser. Before you know it, you’re on a clear path to your goals. Fast forward, you’ve ditched the stuff holding you back from happiness. You even love your messy, imperfect parts. Now, you’re fully embracing the real, confident you. Ditching anything that chips away at your self-worth. Nodding along? I’ve got you covered. Combining your drive for change with EMDR therapy is sure to bring incredible results. Think of EMDR as a train ride through your past, leaving issues behind as you move forward. It’s time to unlock your true potential. I’m here for you every step of the way. Ready to chat? The clients I work best with are often carrying the weight of trauma and are seeking a more connected, empowered way of living. Whether personal, generational, or systemic, many feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, or disconnection from their bodies and sense of self. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP), I offer a holistic approach that gently supports nervous system regulation, emotional healing, and self-awareness. I also draw from mindfulness-based practices and integrate ancestral wisdom and energy work when aligned with the client’s needs. My role is to walk alongside you as you reclaim your voice, your wholeness, and your own inner wisdom.
I strongly believe in the human potential for growth and healing. My work focuses on accessing the inherent strength and wisdom that exists in all of us through insight and therapeutic support. My goal is to help clients feel empowered and confident to create the changes they want to make within themselves and their relationships. Whether you are processing past trauma, working through feelings of anxiety and depression, or wanting to develop healthier relationship and family dynamics, I create a safe and comfortable environment to support your healing journey.
Hi, I'm Amy – I'm glad you're here! I work with college students who are navigating challenges—whether it's adjusting to a new environment, dealing with anxiety, managing ADHD, or figuring out relationships. College can be an exciting time, but it can also feel overwhelming. You're not alone, and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself. My approach is supportive, down-to-earth, and focused on helping you build the tools and confidence you need to feel more in control. Whether you’re struggling with classes, feeling stuck, or just need someone to talk to, I’m here to help. Let’s work together to make this chapter of your life a little easier.
I have worked with many University Students struggling with the adjustment and stress of a Masters or PHD program. I work in Downtown Corvallis offering in person or online sessions. Most of my clients come in with stress anxiety, depression, diversity issues, and trauma
I work with individuals navigating anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, and the impact of past experiences. Many students I see feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to cope with everything they’re carrying. I offer a supportive, grounded space to help you better understand yourself, build coping skills, and feel more connected and confident in your daily life.
With my client-centered focus, I work hard to build a therapeutic relationship that creates a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental space for clients to present themselves to their fullest potential. My priority is to guide and support each client in their journey to develop their sense of self-love, confidence, and peace of mind and body. Some of the issues I work with are relationship issues, academic stress, ADHD, parenting support, parent-child relationship issues, peer conflict, family conflict, anxiety, depression, cultural adjustment, life transitions, coping skills and general stress. I have extensive experience working with high-risk children, teens, and families experiencing a diverse range of emotional and behavioral problems at home and school, and symptoms resulting from disrupted attachment. I also have experience working with clients from minority cultures and marginalized groups. Growing up in another country, having knowledge and experience around a diversity of cultures allows me to be more open-minded, compassionate, and humble in supporting clients through a more holistic lens. It is never easy to take the first step, know that my goal in the therapeutic process is to create a safe and supportive environment for you.
My work integrates contemplative, relational, depth, mindfulness-based, and somatic (body-oriented) approaches to healing and growth. My practice is most influenced by Somatic Experiencing (SE), a naturalistic and interdisciplinary approach to healing I would be delighted to tell you more about. If you are looking for support in your healing journey, want to restore balance to your nervous system, emotions and relationships, and if a somatic approach is something you are curious about, I encourage you to jump onto my website, inner room (dot) net, and use my Online Booking system to schedule a free initial consultation.
Life can be tricky at times...and for those who are also navigating all of life while being a student, it's even trickier. I look forward to working with students who are interesting in learning healthy coping skills to effectively support juggling all life has to offer. I hope we can explore together ways in which to reduce some of your stress and anxiety and/or other issues you might be facing.
Do you feel guilty or second-guess yourself when you try to set boundaries? If life feels overwhelming, stressful, or confusing, you don’t have to face it alone. I offer a supportive, collaborative space where you can explore your story, feel understood, and find clarity. Whether you’re wrestling with anxiety, stress, unresolved trauma, or lingering guilt around setting boundaries—that’s where I come in. If you grew up with emotionally immature parents or without strong emotional modeling, those early patterns may still be shaping your relationships and self-esteem today. Together, we’ll work through these experiences so you can make clearer choices, strengthen boundaries, and build healthier connections. While we might talk about difficult things, I bring warmth, patience, and humor into our work—because healing does also include kindness and light as well as depth. If this resonates, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation—no pressure, just a chance to see if working together feels like a good fit. Call or Email to get started.
