Currently accepting clients in New York State for teletherapy and in-person in NYC! We work with most major insurance companies--call/email us to find out if our services are covered. Kip Therapy is therapy for every identity. Together, we’ll define and work on the things that make it difficult to find your place in the world—like being queer, processing trauma, navigating your most important relationships, entering into adulthood and careers, or struggling with self-esteem. Kip was originally founded to fill a gap in mental health care for members of the LGBTQ+ community. Many members of the Kip team have lived experiences as LGBTQ+ people, and it remains one of the primary reasons clients work with us. Through a LGBTQ+ affirming lens, our therapists focus on what makes you unique and how your experiences--your history, your identity, your culture--shape who you are and what you may be struggling with. Kip is a trailblazer in the mental health industry, serving clients in New York State. Since 2013, we’ve been rethinking and redesigning therapy for the 21st century. Our work is shaped by three guiding principles: Include-We provide care for individuals who have been excluded from traditional therapy, particularly members of the LGBTQ+ community. Invest-We offer training and support for emerging therapists to improve quality of care and unlock new opportunities for diverse clinicians. Innovate-We boldly push the field of psychotherapy forward, and evolve our own approach based on the latest best practices.

TriBeCa Therapy is a center for psychotherapy that was founded on the assumption that human beings are original, imaginative, inspired, and inventive. We particularly love our work with young adults and college students and are connected to issues they deal with. Issues related to sex and dating, drugs and drinking, depression and anxiety and academic pressures aren’t topics that will freak us out. We can handle it. College students frequently discuss with us challenges such as: making friends in ways that don’t involve alcohol, making friends as a person of color, navigating social situations that demand connecting with strangers (like in the cafeteria) and finding “their people.” We work to create a partnership that takes these challenges on together, trying new strategies, taking increasingly bigger risks and dealing with the disappointments and celebrating the successes that follow. College is a time when many young adults are dealing with very adults issues like sex, sexual assault, eating disorders, substance abuse, managing money, race, class, and career choices. Creating a space where young adults feel comfortable talking about these issues is a strength of our therapists and a non-judgmental stance is key. The object isn’t to insist on a particular set of values or practices, but to support young people to understand what they are dealing with and to make active choices about who they want to be. I am licensed psychologist in New York City with extensive experience with college students. I also currently teach at the university level. Many of my patients come to me with issues regarding anxiety, feeling stuck, feeling lonely, and feeling stressed. I work often with individuals of neurodiverse backgrounds. My other clinical specialties include individuals with Disorders of the Gut-Brain Interaction, chronic pain, and repetitive behavior disorders like Tic/Tourette's syndrome.
My clients typically seek out my help when they are struggling with one or more of the following symptoms: depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, social anxiety, relationship issues, life/goal uncertainties, unwanted compulsions and/or desires, negative and pessimistic thinking, procrastination, internet overuse, among others. My clients are often trauma survivors or adult children of parents who were emotionally and/or verbally abusive to them. My clients are often easily triggered by relationships, authority, responsibility, deadlines, confrontation, interpersonal conflict, decisions, major life transitions such as getting married, having a baby, breaking off a relationship, or starting and/or changing careers. My clients are typically helped by me in therapy through proven techniques that enable them to gain insight into themselves, to develop clarity into some of the reasons why they are feeling these ways, to learn more effective coping skills and strategies, and to experience authentic emotional healing and co-regulation through the warm, supportive, compassionate, validating, and empathetic intervention of a trusted "other." My clients experience healing and growth in treatment with me because of the trusting environment which is developed. They experience being truly seen and known which promotes more positive and optimistic feelings, and they are given the opportunity to see things more realistically, and can finally feel more at ease with themselves and with the world around them.
