Whether working through mood challenges, processing grief, exploring identity, or navigating relationship concerns, I aim to create a space where individuals can show up fully—without needing to edit themselves. My work is integrative and collaborative. Drawing from evidence-based modalities—like cognitive-behavioral therapy, insight-oriented exploration, and mindfulness—I customize each session to you. I view therapy as a co creative process: we work together to explore patterns, test new perspectives, and develop real-life strategies.

Hello, I'm a mental health counselor licensed in the state of NY. I have worked in community mental health since 2015 in both clinic and primary care medical settings. My clients have presented a wide range of concerns, including: depression, anxiety, OCD, grief, substance abuse, capitalism, fascism, and adjustment to life after incarceration. Regardless of what issues bring you to therapy, I work from the assumption that YOU are not the problem. Rather, the situation is the problem, and we work together to transform it. This process often involves shifting your view, giving yourself grace, and deepening compassion for yourself. Before graduate school, I was a community organizer and activist addressing issues of social, ecological, and economic concern; my undergraduate degrees are in Community Health and Peace and Justice Studies. I often use a systems perspective to address problems, and I have experience working with trauma related to systemic harm and oppression. I strive to be supportive and curious in my role as a counselor. Working in this field means that I learn (and unlearn) every day. I am honored to walk alongside the people who invite me into their lives, and I do my best to offer honesty and compassion in a safe and respectful way. I value broad access to psychotherapy and gladly offer a sliding fee scale.

Hello and Welcome! Whether you're new to mental health care or have tried it out already, making the decision to seek care is an important investment in your overall wellbeing. In my private practice, I care for concerns that are common among people in university settings, including anxiety, depression, stress, sleep, and self esteem. I provide both medication management and psychotherapy services. In psychotherapy, I also work with people on all kinds of issues that may not have a specific diagnosis to go with them, but which still can have a big impact on wellbeing, like navigating life transitions, relationships, family, setting goals, and managing the stress of the world and of being a student or university employee! I am an experienced, long time psychotherapist, who helps create a nurturing environment that is warm, curious and non judgemental. I am focused on understanding the client and supporting the optimal healing process. I have an unconditional commitment to each of my clients to be open and honest, to be focused on their life-enhancing goals, and to work in a proactive manner to help them achieve these goals in the briefest possible time. No single approach works for everyone. Some issues may be addressed with a short-term, solution-focused approach. More complex issues may need a combination of approaches over a longer time.
There are times during our lives when we may benefit from talking with someone to explore our thoughts, emotions, and experiences related to transitions, trauma, loss, and other challenges. Often, thoughts, emotions, perceptions and environmental factors can interfere with our ability to reach our full potential. I view our work together as a shared journey toward your ideal self. I work to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your present experiences and work toward who you want to be. Together, we will work on clarifying your values and goals and help you move toward them in meaningful ways. I specialize in working with adults (18+) experiencing depression, anxiety, obsessive thoughts, trauma and/or adjusting to life transitions, health concerns, and grief/loss. I utilize treatment modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Art Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the pressure you put on yourself or by what everyone else seems to expect from you? College can come with a long list of demands. Do well in classes. Make friends. Join clubs. Keep everyone happy. Figure out your future. When all of this adds up, it can start to feel heavy and confusing. I’m Emily, a therapist with extensive experience working with children, teens, and adults in community mental health clinics, schools, non-profits, and group practices. I help students work through anxiety, depression, self-doubt, identity exploration, social challenges, and the impact of past experiences or trauma. I use approaches like CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic therapy, along with a strengths-based and trauma-informed perspective. What this really means is that we work together to understand what you are experiencing and develop tools that fit you as an individual. My goal is to offer a space where you feel safe, accepted, and supported while you figure things out. You deserve a place where you can be honest, build confidence, and move toward self-acceptance. Whatever you are facing, you belong here. I am here to listen, help you make sense of things, and support you as you work toward the life you want.
I am happy to work with anyone who is committed to living a fuller life by learning more about themselves. I am comfortable helping people out with a variety of psychiatric issues, both through medications and / or therapy. I am careful about prescribing medications only when necessary and prefer to minimize their use if the person taking them is on board. Sharing experiences in a safe space can heal wounds and help us grow to our fullest potential. We all have a capacity for joy and fulfillment often buried under bad experiences and layers of protection. I will walk with you on your inward journey and help you make the most of it.

Hello, I am a psychologist in private practice for over 20 years. I hope that I can help support you during this time of transition and growth in your life. There are many ways you can become derailed on your journey, and I would like to help you figure out how to get back on track or to even consider different tracks as you move forward. The name 'Winding Path' is a classic metaphor for life - the way in which one's life goes is often not linear or predictable. Often, people find themselves on a path that they both did not see coming nor are sure of where it will lead. This is what brings many people to therapy. I specifically gear my practice to help those with stress, trauma, family conflict, and symptoms that arise with indecision. The ethos of my practice is that I will meet clients where they are and walk with them on their own winding path, while using the therapeutic tools garnered from years of training to aim toward lessening their unease and increasing their clarity.
