Welcome to Concord Counseling Associates & Natalie Atwell Counseling We provide professional counseling services to families, couples and individuals of all ages (children & adults). Our theoretical approaches and therapeutic techniques include, but are not limited to, cognitive-behavioral therapy, gestalt therapy, solution-focused, reality therapy and person-centered.
We are a boutique therapy service, that provides mainly telehealth services. We are African American Women that pride ourselves on provided mental health therapy services to the underserved and often overlooked. We specialize in treating people who struggle with dual diagnoses, ADHD, Autism Spectrum, severe anxiety, severe depression, anger management and trauma.
I work with individuals dealing with life transitions, medical related issues, mood and affective disorders, and marriage, parenting or family issues. I also have my Yoga Teacher Training Certification as well as completing my certifications in Maternal Mental Health and ADHD. My approach to counseling places an emphasis on the relationship between the client and counselor and the promotion of growth. When needed, I use a variety of structured and non-structured interventions to best meet the needs of the client. I utilize empirically supported techniques, including cognitive and behavioral interventions, that focus on the ways in which individuals think about and respond to events. These interventions allow clients to restructure their thinking, process events and modify behaviors in more adaptive ways. I use a narrative and solution focused approach to collaboratively work with clients to identify successful past solutions to problems and how these strengths can be implemented in future situations. Small changes in the way clients view themselves and their own abilities to solve problems will encourage solution-oriented patterns to reach future goals.
I work with clients who are grappling with anxiety, depression, and stress. Many are dealing with changes in their family, including substance use, codependency, and relationship issues. My clients are diverse but they all want to feel understood, heard, and validated. The most important part of therapy is the rapport between the clinician and the client, which is known as unconditional positive regard. The client needs to feel supported so that they can freely discuss the presenting problem. Throughout this process, I strive to be warm, empathetic, and knowledgeable; clients have previously described me as patient and open minded.

I work at Southeast Psych, a private group practice located in the South Park area of Charlotte, NC. I collaborate with adults and emerging adults (age 15+) to help identify meaningful goals, increase self-awareness, and process challenging thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Many of the clients I work with are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief/bereavement, life transitions, difficulty establishing boundaries, or challenges in coping with emotions. My approach to therapy places emphasis on the relationship between client and therapist; allowing the client to guide sessions in the direction that is most relevant and meaningful. In addition, I utilize techniques and skills drawn from Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Dialectical-Behavior Therapy (DBT), in order to tailor session to the uniqueness of the client and their life experiences. If you feel we may be a good fit for each other or have any questions, please reach out.

My name is Laura Fisher-Caudill (she/her), and as a trauma therapist and human, I am excited to get to know you. As a highly sensitive, empathetic person with big emotions, I love helping other empathetic humans heal from past trauma. As someone who’s experienced mental health struggles and complex trauma throughout my life experience, it’s been incredibly rewarding to provide a space where people can create meaningful connections between their past experiences and current realities and work towards healing from past trauma to find their own inner control, wisdom, and growth in the process. I am deeply committed to helping clients I work with find their inner strength, resilience, and the tools they need to heal from the past and create a life filled with purpose, joy, and fulfillment. My goal is to empower others in learning effective tools for navigating emotional distress and unburdening the pain of past trauma to create their lives worth living! Adult children of parents who were/are emotionally immature and/or have narcissistic behavior patterns. Complex traumatic experiences throughout their lifetimes, such as emotional invalidation or emotional trauma/neglect, criticism, and/or judgment by caregivers, being parentified early in life or expected (either overtly or covertly) to caretake emotional needs of their parents and not have needs of their own, being placed in the role of peacekeeper in their family system, and may have experienced sexual, physical, or other forms of abuse as well. Living with a chronically dysregulated nervous system due to experiences of complex traumatic events throughout their lives, often beginning at a very young age. Somatic, or body based, symptoms of complex trauma, such as chronic pain, illness, stored emotions in hips, shoulders and other areas of the physical body. Neurodivergent, specifically being highly sensitive to sensory experiences, emotionally intense, empathetic humans who identify as being gifted and/or having ADHD. Members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
