I'm Jess, and I am a queer neurodivergent therapist who practices LGBTQIA+ friendly, Autistic and ADHD affirming, and trauma-informed therapy. It's my passion to support folks who are feeling the weight of shame and self-doubt, questioning where they belong/who they are, and struggling in their relationship with food and body. In our space, there is no such thing as being "too sensitive" or "too much." I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship, so my work is grounded in developing compassionate, trusting relationships with clients. I prioritize being mindful of how my privileged identities, including being white and thin, impact the therapeutic relationship. I am committed to engaging in ongoing anti-oppressive learning outside of sessions. In therapy, I incorporate somatic and relational approaches, including Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR. I strongly believe in client autonomy and respect for the different ways we all adapt to find safety and connection. My clients often struggle with challenges in their relationship’s whether they be romantic, friendly, or family relationships. My clients worry about abandonment, often finding issues from their past show up and negatively affect their relationships. Some feel they may be in a codependent relationship but not sure. Our work together will help you understand how past pain affects present relationships. Then we will work at unpacking that baggage, organize it, and put it away in a safe place. Although it may never truly go away, you can confront it in a way that allows you to move forward and find happiness. My goal is to get to know you and the issues that bring you to counseling. We will work together to help you establish a baseline of calm, good self-care, and coping skills. This will help you feel safe and secure before we dive into unpacking the things that are causing you pain. Together we will set goals, to help you realize all of your unique strengths, create healthy boundaries, and self-esteem to build a happier, healthier life, I look forward to working with you.

My experience in the wellness field began with personal training and nutritional coaching in 2001 by helping clients achieve their goals with motivational and goal oriented programs while simultaneously helping them overcome personal obstacles. While working as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, I obtained my Life Coaching certificate and focused on helping clients achieve a healthy mindset and relationship with food focusing on nutrition and life balance. My research and experience with eating disorders has led to the whole health wellness perspective and approach to a holistic view of healthcare and wellness. I have continued to work in the field of nutrition, weight management, and mental health to date (19 years) and am excited to continue my journey in the PhD program. In practicum and internship during my masters, I worked at both a neurocounseling and biofeedback office and in a private practice setting with individuals, groups, couples, and families providing services for adolescents and adults. Areas of therapy include behavioral difficulties, depression, anxiety, panic disorders, obsessive/compulsiveness, trauma, relationships, family difficulties, eating disorders, infertility, and sex counseling.
Trying to keep it together but low-key burning out? College hits from every angle—classes, social pressure, identity, and performance. Whether you’re a student-athlete or managing ADHD/Autism, it’s a lot. I blend psychology and performance tools to help you lock in, build resilience, and actually feel steady—not just push through.
We can all benefit from gaining insights, learning skills, and having “tune ups” along the way. If you’re feeling stuck, struggling with how you feel about yourself or in relationship with someone, experiencing unwanted or intrusive thoughts or memories from a past experience, ruminating on negative thoughts or beliefs, or feeling anxious or depressive symptoms, you don’t have to walk through it alone! Our therapists use various counseling approaches that include evidence based treatments like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Because we are out of network, we can also get creative within our work with you. We’ll utilize appropriate techniques such as music or walk-and-talk therapy and can even take “field trips” with you if we deem it beneficial in your treatment (ie- restaurant outings, exposure therapy for certain phobias, home visits, etc.)
