Working with college students is a true honor, and not one that I take lightly. I've helped a diverse range of college students while working on campus at Delta Community College, and helped them manage mental health concerns ranging from anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relationship issues, and more. I love helping students discover their authentic selves in order to reach their goals. If this resonates with you, I'd love to talk to you. Hi, I’m Dallas, a counseling graduate intern at Resilience Counseling & Play Therapy. I work with children, teens, young adults, and college students who may be feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, stuck, or uncertain about life’s next steps. College can bring a lot of pressure balancing academics, relationships, work, family expectations, and mental health all at once. My goal is to provide a supportive, judgment-free space where you can feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself. I enjoy helping students navigate anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, relationship concerns, stress management, and emotional struggles that can interfere with daily life and success in school. I also have experience supporting children, adolescents, and families through behavioral concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma, and family stressors. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I believe therapy should feel like a safe place to talk openly, build healthy coping skills, gain confidence, and work toward meaningful change at your own pace. Whether you are struggling with something specific or simply feeling emotionally exhausted, you do not have to figure it out alone.

Life can be difficult. With the right tools and some effort, it does not have to be. My hope is to help you with your goals. Whether that is to feel better (less depressed, anxious or angry), improve your relationships (with a spouse, parent, child, etc.), change your behaviors (substance use, self harm, avoidance), or anything else that is important to you, I'd love the opportunity to work with you. I enjoy working with a many different presenting problems. My passions include working with teens/adults, men's issues (especially navigating work and/or family life), post-partum Dads, athletes and substance use/co-occurring disorders. Therapy isn't one-size fits all. I utilize many forms of therapy depending on what my client may need. These typically include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution-focused therapy and motivational interviewing. Each client is unique and I find it important to adjust treatment strategies to the needs of each client. Should you allow me to be a help to you, you can always expect empathy and compassion. But you can also expect me to be direct, push you to challenge your perspective, and inject a bit of humor into the therapy process. I welcome you to reach out if you think I could be the right fit for you.

Welcome. My name is Julia, and I’m here to support you. As a therapist, I specialize in trauma recovery and all that comes with it - depression, anxiety, grief, anger, coping (both healthy and unhealthy), and more. I have specific experience working with people battling substance abuse, and with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. I primarily use mindfulness, parts work, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) skills, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) in sessions with my clients. Therapy is a lot like exercise - it’s hard to get started, it hurts while you’re doing it… and you’re always glad you did it anyway. The first step is asking for help. This is hard, but you can absolutely do it. You're already here, aren't you?

When therapy becomes a reality A situation arises in one’s life that alters our once innocent perspective of our surroundings. Answers are searched through the experience of others when ultimately the truth lies within our own experiences. These two phrases tend to resonate with individuals who experience trauma, anxiety, depression, overall dysregulation within their environment. Each person’s experience is unique as well as the journey to repairing the damage left behind. I believe therapy can be used to create a personable, yet the potentially uncomfortable path to reality and self-truth. Without exposing or facing the wounds, the trauma response can remain to stagnate or continue to spread internally and externally. In which developing the vicious cycle of chaos within, generationally, and/or onto others our surroundings. Therefore, strengthening self-acceptance in exploring our wounds can create wisdom for breaking the cycle(s). Professional Experience Seeking a therapist that fits you can be daunting. I feel in order to fully engage in the therapeutic process, it is important to know who your story is being shared with. I have experience with various populations and my style tends to be direct in nature. The individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting tend to struggle(d) in the following areas: Relationships (family, romantic, & interpersonal) Substance abuse (self or family/loved one) Life transitions (grief, growth, roles, separations, etc.) Intellectual-Developmental disabilities & Autism Caregiver fatigue “Never give up on someone with mental illness. Life is a story, and sometimes, we find ourselves caught up in chapters that feel challenging, overwhelming, or just downright confusing. But what if I told you that you have the power to rewrite your narrative? As a firm believer in the transformative power of therapy, I've discovered a gem that has become a compass for many of my therapy journeys—Narrative Therapy. Let me spill the beans on why it's not just about talking through problems but reshaping the entire story. 1. Separating Person from Problem: Imagine detangling yourself from the web of problems that seem to define you. Narrative Therapy invites you to step back, helping you realize that you are not the problem; the problem is just a chapter in your vast and intricate story. 2. Re-authoring Your Narrative: Ever wished you could be the author of your own story? With Narrative Therapy, you can be! Together, we roll up our sleeves and rewrite the script. We discard the old, tired narratives and create new, empowering tales that resonate with the person you're becoming. 3. Making Meaning, Shifting Perspectives: The beauty of Narrative Therapy lies in its ability to help you make meaning of your experiences. By changing the language around the presenting problem, we open doors to new perspectives. Suddenly, the story isn't about defeat but about resilience, growth, and newfound strength. Your Story, Your Power In the world of Narrative Therapy, your story isn't a burden; it's your greatest asset. We strip away the labels and limitations, giving you the pen to script a narrative that aligns with your authentic self. Ready to Redefine Your Narrative? If you're craving a change in your life's storyline, let's embark on this transformative journey together. Narrative Therapy isn't just about finding solutions; it's about discovering the incredible resilience and wisdom within you. Here's to re-authoring, reclaiming, and celebrating your unique story!
