I work best with students seeking to understand the deeper sources of their issues. Many students experience anxiety and depression especially when first entering college. This can be very difficult and disruptive personally, socially and academically. Often there are feelings of deep sadness, uncertainty, fear, loneliness, shame and anger. There is a way through this difficult time and I would be very interested to work it through with you.
Life doesn’t come with a manual, especially during transitions. You’re trying to figure out who you are, where you're going, and how to manage everything from school, relationships, work, and just... existing. Maybe you're in college or recently graduated, or you're trying to adult for real—but anxiety, low motivation, or just feeling stuck is getting in the way. If you're navigating big life transitions, struggling with overthinking, anxiety, burnout, loneliness, or mild depression, you're not alone. These years can be exciting—but also overwhelming, isolating, and confusing. You don’t have to figure it all out by yourself. I work with Adults, emerging adults and young professionals who are ready to feel more grounded, confident, and connected. Together, we’ll create a space where you can explore your thoughts without judgment, build tools that actually work for you, and move from just surviving to genuinely living. Therapy with me is collaborative, real, and tailored to what you need—not a one-size-fits-all approach. I bring warmth, honesty, and a sense of humor when it's needed most. Whether you're new to therapy or returning to it, you're welcome here. You don’t have to have it all figured out. Let’s start where you are. Please schedule directly with my website
Life may seem overwhelming, as if you are alone and no one understands you. Maybe you have an issue with someone, but the thought of conflict makes you shut down and avoid the situation. Perhaps you are anxious or consumed with worry or afraid of disappointing others. I have worked with many patients who struggle to stay connected in relationships or effectively communicate with others. You could struggle with anger issues and use anger to defend and protect yourself from being hurt. I have specialized training in Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychotherapy techniques to help, especially if you have a history of complex trauma. We first focus on building the therapy alliance, which I will describe in detail with you. You do the work, while I collaborate with you in your journey.
At Helix Health Group we believe creating an environment of health and wellness begins with an open empathetic therapeutic relationship. A place where people feel safe to explore their family/relationship dynamics, unresolved traumas, and coping mechanisms. Through this exploration we will discover in what ways these impact your life. All the while, working together to identify your individual strengths and how we can adapt these to empower growth. We will establish an individual treatment plan that may include medications, complementary and alternative wellness interventions, and/or psychotherapy. Our focus is building strong therapeutic alliances, facilitating personal & professional growth, and treating all mental health conditions including addictions with modern medical interventions and psychotherapy. We are passionate about mental health and helping others appreciate their individual strengths.

We’ll explore what’s been holding you back and develop strategies that actually fit into your life. I use evidence-based approaches, mindfulness techniques, and tools for managing stress and anxiety, but I also believe in keeping things real, relatable, and sometimes even lighthearted. Growth doesn’t always have to feel heavy—it’s about learning how to navigate life in a way that feels true to you. A Little About Me I’m Rachel McCrystal, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and I’ve dedicated my career to helping people—just like you—navigate life’s challenges with care and confidence. Outside of therapy, I’m a mother, a military spouse, and a breast cancer survivor, so I deeply understand what it’s like to feel stretched thin and uncertain about the future. My own experiences have taught me how important it is to have someone in your corner—and that’s exactly what I aim to be for you. This Is Your Time I know it can feel scary to take that first step toward therapy, but I promise, it’s worth it. You don’t have to have it all figured out before reaching out—I’ll meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you figure it out. Therapy is about creating space to breathe, reflect, and grow. It’s about learning to trust yourself, embrace your strengths, and navigate challenges with more clarity and resilience. If you’re ready to stop feeling stuck and start moving forward, let’s connect. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space to increase your self awareness and improve your ability to cope with stressors. My approach is client-centered, and targets balance between mind and body. The focus areas of my practice are women’s issues, bicultural identity, anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorder. I have several years of experience working in the field in inpatient and outpatient community mental health settings. I care about an array of social justice issues, most prominently disrupting racial oppression and promoting equity. I consider myself an ally to people who identify as LGBTQ+. I am deeply passionate about women's issues and navigating identity. I am so glad you are taking a moment to prioritize your well-being, and look forward to working with you!
Hello! My name is Kate, and I've been a therapist for 15 years, and a virtual therapist for 3 years. I have a Masters in Social Work and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. I love working with people of all ages, and enjoy addressing a diverse array of issues that impair us from being our best selves. In addition to myself, I work with 4 co-therapists; 3 dogs and a cat! They occassionally make brief appearances during sessions to provide their insight. I generally approach therapy as an equal meeting of you, as the expert on yourself, and me, as someone who can give some qualified insight and ask good questions to guide you to your own answers. I tend to be warm and engaging, and I pull the most from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), although I also use certain tools from other modalities, as well. In our sessions, we will work together to target the areas in which you would like to grow, give you the tools you need in order to produce the desired growth, and tackle sticking points and struggles as you work on applying what we discuss in therapy. I generally will give "homework" between sessions to help you continue to think about and apply what we are working on in your daily life, but it's nothing intense, I promise! Most clients find the "homework" really helpful and even fun, sometimes.
