Are you queer and struggling with body image and food? Or just feeling disconnected from your body? Are you looking for a therapist who gets it—who’s been there? I am an eating disorder therapist who is also queer. Believe it to not, the LGBTQ community is hit hardest when it comes to struggling with our relationship with our bodies. Many of us have had eating disorders, and even more of us struggle significantly with body image. As a trained somatic therapist, I hope to support you to have a better relationship with your body, and to understand the language it speaks—including how trauma may have manifested in your nervous system.
Working as an independent provider giving psychiatric care from my office, White Hart PMH, I help students who struggle with depression, anxiety, and attention deficit disorder and provide understanding of the progression and management of these conditions improving the overall quality of personal, academic, and professional life by bringing together physiologic (medications management), psychologic (psychotherapy support, cognitive processes, mindfulness), and lifestyle (nutrition as medicine, physical activity strategies). I find working with college students and young adults very rewarding recognizing I was once in the same place as you. I understand how challenging it can be to maintain the demands of college especially true when coping with depression, anxiety, and cognitive performance issues. These experiences lead to feeling overwhelmed and make keeping up with schoolwork difficult. If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, and performance issues, an assessment and an individualized treatment plan can help.

I have been working in the field since 2013 and from my experience working in hospital and residential treatment centers, I became interested in addressing trauma. Trauma can come in many forms, has an impact on all of our systems. Trauma is on a continuum of stress and includes severe stress as well as stress over an extensive period of time. Sometimes, we're not aware of this and it can show up as anxiety. I offer EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Hypnotherapy. Life has a way of showing us where our work is and I am honored to have been a part of many people's recovery.
Kaitlin Boyd is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Yoga Teacher. She specializes in helping teens and adults who are struggling with worry and sadness and want to learn how to confidently embody their authentic selves. Many of her clients are Empaths or Highly Sensitive People--they crave "more" out of life and are seekers with big questions about how to create a life worth living. They have a multitude of strengths, including the ability to feel deep compassion for others and to think critically about the world we live in. But they can also struggle with feeling misunderstood and can develop low self-confidence after focusing so much of their time and attention on others. In therapy, Kaitlin works to help clients express their true selves and find inner peace. Her approach is holistic and evidence-based, using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), and Existential Therapy. She teaches skills to help clients cope and relate to others in healthy ways, as well as mindfulness to get in touch with the "root cause" of clients' suffering, which can be anything from an unhelpful thought pattern to an unexpressed emotion. Kaitlin welcomes a diversity of clientele and provides a safe space for clients interested in exploring their experience of oppression in the multitude of ways it manifests in our culture. Kaitlin offers the flexibility of remote online therapy sessions.

Starting college is a major life transition that can be exciting, but also challenging and overwhelming. Adjusting to new routines, increased academic demands, and changing social circles is difficult for many students. Nearly 76% of college students report experiencing moderate to severe stress or distress, with anxiety, loneliness, and depression being especially common during this stage of life. If you’re feeling stuck, anxious, or isolated, therapy offers a supportive space to process tough emotions and big changes. Together, we can develop coping strategies that build resilience and self-compassion, helping you navigate these challenges and rediscover your inner strengths. Change is hard, but you don’t have to figure it out alone!
Life can feel like a constant push toward the next achievement, leaving you stuck in self-doubt, uncertainty, or the pressure to have it all figured out. Maybe you're questioning your path, struggling with relationships, or trying to break free from old patterns that no longer serve you. If your inner critic won’t quiet down or you feel overwhelmed by anxiety and stress, you don’t have to navigate it alone. The experiences we carry from childhood shape how we navigate relationships, cope with challenges, and see ourselves. Past wounds can create patterns that feel hard to break, but change is possible. If you feel stuck in cycles of self-doubt, struggling to set boundaries, or weighed down by family expectations, therapy can support you in discovering your true self and creating healthier patterns. I offer a space to explore these challenges, challenge limiting beliefs, and develop a stronger connection to yourself. I specialize in a psychodynamic approach with an attachment lens, helping you unpack how past experiences influence your present. Using a trauma-informed and holistic framework, I address the whole person—mind, body, and emotions. I also can incorporate brainspotting, a nontraditional but powerful tool that helps process trauma and emotional distress beyond talk therapy. Additionally, I support those adjusting to life with cancer or chronic illness, helping you navigate the emotional weight of a diagnosis, changes in identity, and the uncertainty that comes with it. My style is warm, approachable, and real. Therapy should be a place where you feel safe to be yourself—whether you’re laughing, crying, or just figuring things out. Let’s work together to build confidence, clarity, and a life that feels more like yours.
Our practice specializes in treating university and college students using a strength-focused approach. We believe fully in helping clients utilize the strengths that they have to address the aspects of their life that are not working and the areas of their experiences where they are stuck, hurt, or failing to thrive. All of our clinicians have extensive experience working with undergraduate and graduate students, as well as their partners and families. We believe that students at any stage in their education are at exciting moments in their lives that are well-designed for psychological growth and healing.
If you’re feeling stuck, anxious or overwhelmed, find yourself repeating the same patterns, or are struggling to figure out your identity in a new role or stage of life, you’re not alone. So many of us try to push through without stopping to take care of ourselves. What you’re feeling is exhaustion that is masked as resilience. You deserve a life that feels calm, connected and meaningful. Selah Therapy Studio can help you find your way there. The word Selah means to pause and reflect. In our sessions, you’ll have the space to slow down, explore what’s beneath the surface and move toward balance, empowerment and healing. I work with adolescents, young adults and adults who are experiencing anxiety, past trauma, grief or major life changes. My approach is warm, collaborative and client-centered. Together, we’ll explore how your past experiences - including trauma, family dynamics, or difficult life events - shape the way you view yourself and the world. Your past may shape you, but it doesn’t have to define your future. Healing doesn’t mean erasing the past - it means learning to live fully with it. Together, we can make sense of what has happened in and around your life, so you can create space for change. I welcome you to reach out today for a free consultation to see if this feels like the right fit.
