OCD and Anxiety Disorders have magnified in our community since our small city has been stressed by the pandemic, the fires, and King Soopers shootings. I work with adolescents, young adults and adults who are looking to better understand themselves and create a more meaningful, connected life. I support clients navigating a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, identity development, and relational challenges. My style is warm, open, and curious, and I strive to create a supportive space where we can explore what matters most to you. Together, we’ll tailor therapy to your unique values, goals, and lived experiences—especially in the areas where you feel stuck or uncertain. I bring over a decade of experience providing therapy that is collaborative, culturally responsive, and tailored to the unique needs of each person. My training is integrative—I draw from psychodynamic, relational, and behavioral approaches to support meaningful and lasting growth. Finding a therapist who feels like the right fit can be one of the hardest—and most important—steps in starting therapy. If you’re curious about working together, I’d love to offer a free phone consultation to learn more about what you’re looking for, answer any questions you might have, and talk about how I can support you in your therapy journey. Feel free to outreach me or schedule a consultation at https://drlindseyharcus.sessionshealth.com/.

“The real warriors in this world are the ones that see the details of another’s soul…they are the sensitive souls that understand that before they could be a light they first had to feel the burn.” -Shannon L. Adler. I too, identify as one of those sensitive souls (HSP), and am excited about working alongside other real warriors in an often insensitive world. As a fellow adoptee as well, I can relate with those who may have experienced this grief as well, and the trauma often surrounding that. Through Brainspotting, Nuerofeedback, CBT, and some integrated approaches, I’m excited to begin working at this practice and help others through these various modalities. Even if you don’t identify as a HSP, I’d love to work with you and help you through whatever difficulties you may be experiencing. I’m most passionate about nature and the outdoors, so aside from offering normal in office therapy, will be offering both virtual sessions, as well as walk and talk therapy. Nuerodivergents, and those with sensitive nervous systems are amongst populations I love working with.

A need to always look put-together and strong can be destructive and exhausting. It seems like the harder you try, the harder it gets. The pressure to appear “all good” invalidates the emotions we all experience as human beings. Living in a culture of toxic positivity only reinforces the idea that negative thoughts and feelings are somehow inherently unhealthy. In therapy, outdated notions are challenged and you will not be invalidated for feeling…anything. Many of my clients have internalized beliefs about who they should and shouldn’t be- and most of these beliefs are false. Therapy is a non-judgmental space where you can truly express yourself without fear of being judged or shamed. Many of the clients I work with identify with being anxious, perfectionists who want better relationships. I also work with adults who know or think they may be on the autism spectrum. Overall, therapy can be great tool to get a better grip on life as well as for treating a specific diagnosis.. Whatever your background, your struggles, your ambitions, we will work together. Feeling better is within reach.

Marriage & Family Therapist
Edgewater, CO

I identify as a Togolese immigrant, daughter, sister, fur-mom, and wife in an interracial marriage. These identities influence how I show up as a therapist and constantly evolve each day. The challenges I have faced have given me both the insight and desire to work with individuals, couples, and families through their hurdles and to help them find what is and isn’t their story. I believe in the idea of assisting individuals, couples & families of different backgrounds to find their path instead of feeling stuck and tied down to societal expectations or their past maladaptive patterns. Due to the unique makeup of our world, I use an integrative approach with my clients; this allows me to use modalities that best suit the need of my clients. I value providing warmth, kindness, empathy, and directness when needed. I hope this little bio reflects my passion for working with humans of all different backgrounds and the depth of sacredness I hold for being a part of your stories.
