Sarah Mitchell
I work with adult clients who are looking to build a more nurturing relationship with themselves and their bodies. I take a gentle approach to honor the strategies that have gotten you this far, and support you in building new ways of being. My hope is to create a reflective space where clients can put down their critical parts and develop compassion for the experiences that have shaped their lives and relationships. I work with folks experiencing anxiety, depression, anti-fat bias, obsessions, compulsions, avoidance, trauma, life transitions, body image difficulties and those recovering from disordered eating.
My primary goal for all of my clients is to support them in building a life worth living. I pull from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Relational-Cultural Therapy, Trauma informed practices, Health at Every Size (HAES) and mindfulness to meet clients where they are. I strive to create an anti-racist, fat positive, and LGBTQIA2S+ affirming space.
I know from my own experience in therapy that relationships matter. I don’t expect to be the right therapist for everyone, but if you are looking to feel understood and lovingly challenged please reach out! Having a good fit with your therapist matters, which is why I offer a free 15-20 minute call before starting with a client.
